Hi all, I'm having a real struggle with my 53 reg VRS

Cut a long story short, im replacing my outer CV joint (hub side). I've 'misplaced' the thrust ring and the belville washer.

I've ordered some from a skoda dealer, which are the wrong dimater and so won't fit over the shaft. There appears to be no alterative part listed. I've put the joint back on the shaft without the thrust ring and belville washer and there is a fair bit of float, which obviously isn't ideal.

Can anyone advise where I can get these please? I've looked at CV gaiter kits which contain said washer and ring but don't seem to list for the VRs and so i'm worried about them not fitting.

Could anyont shed any light on this?

(And i'm not driving the car by the way as its all diassembled from the inner CV backwards)

There was a design change to the driveshafts, so the older parts may be no longer available. Best bet is to take the shaft to a dealer so they can check the diameter and go from there. Failing that, a scrap yard, but it's going to be real hunt. After that, new shaft (latest type.)

BTW it would be easy for a machine shop to mill those parts, provided you can supply pattern parts from the other shaft.
