Octavia Estate Shockers

Featured Replies

I am in need of shockers all round on my 2002 Octaiva estate.

1, - If i am replacing all the shockers do I also need to replace the springs?

2, - Where is the best place on the net to find good and cheap new parts needed?

Cheers

No

Dont need to change the springs if you change the shocks unless you find a spring that is on its way out, they have a habit of snapping!

But if you do change the shocks and/or springs do them in pairs.

As for a price if your going for OEM kit then im sure someone on here can help you out!

Good luck

i had to change mine when i got my car, dampers had gone, i think the oem parts were ridiculously expensive so i settled for some Spax VSX sports srpings and dmapers, came with everything needed for the change and cost £285 ish which is very resonable, imvery impressed, hasn't lowered the car too much, jsut closes the gap between the wheel and arch some what and looks much better!

ride is still very comfortable and not choppy at all but when it comes to a corner they are still and not much roll is noticed! definately worth a thought as they seem to be more reliable and nicer to drive with than OEM set-up!

assuming your car is a tdi its the bottom option in that link, its gone up 50 quid or so since i got mine! it says lowers 35mm but mine went down maybe 45mm once properly settled but its not too low!

Hope its of some help!

Spax are good and tobe honest thats a good price considering of what you getting compared to OEM kit

Ive got spax rsx coilovers on my diesel and they are the dogs danglies! Lol
