The Anthracite Assassin

Excellent!

I'm sure you've thought of this, but I'd just get a Stream/Stream MP3 and then swap it over. There was one for £80 in the classifieds not long ago.

EDIT: here it is

Saves you funding international terrorists twice over that way too - bonus! :D :p

Great choice though B)

Lol

I would do Steve but the dealer got back to me today and the service manager said he would take £450 off the price of my car. Because it doesn't have Dual Zone or 18"s (i bought the car before it was standard) he said that is a big selling point of the car.

So it's not worth it as I can get a new LED Columbus for £530 delivered. If i fund the terrorists it keeps me in a job for a bit so i'll get my money back eventually

Fair enough then Carl, if it's part of the PX deal.

Good point on the terrorists. And hey, if you come across a batch of Columbus units at the same time, then everyone's a winner hey ;)

That looks stunning. It's does however prove that mine desperately need polishing... :(

Nice spec Carl - v similar to what I've got going in to build next week - except I let the wife choose the colour and she chose Black :-(

Since you clearly like your optional extras, I thought you might be interested to know, that although they're not officially available on the vRS in the UK (only L&K) if you ask your dealer nicely, they'll arrange electric folding mirrors for you - mine did :-)

More a necessity than a luxury for anyone that has to park on a busy street, or anywhere in London for that matter!

Sorry a bit late but here you are. It is actually quite difficult to get a photo to show up the difference in tints although to the eye it is far more noticeable. I think it looks good but would not be any good if say I were an actor attempting to hide myself in the back. Glad I did get the tints because it looks very good with the Anthracite colour.

Thanks very much. Will still get some shades but that looks good :)

Carl, one of my work colleagues has an FL Scout in black magic, he has sunset glass and tbh there isn't that much differnce between that and standard, so he has added a set of UV Shades from Palm Automotive, the 2 combined look perfect.

Personally though I would go with OE shades as I got some of the above ones and was very disappotinted with the 'custom fit' so they went back! I think you don't notice as much from outside the car on my friends due to the additionally sunset glass.

Cheers Lee

I was going to get the shades anyway. I have sunset glass on the Slingshot but the pic above seems a bit darker.

Sorry to drag this old one up.

I spoke with my dealer today about getting folding mirrors added to my vRS - Dealer said he didn't think it was possible, but would speak to Skoda UK.

He got back to me an hour later to say that no, Skoda UK have said this is not an option they can provide.

He then gave me a number for a nice lady at Skoda UK - who I called.

Had a chat with her and once again was told no, this was not an option that could be provided.

I explained that somebody else had asked and received, but again I'm told there is no way this can happen.

Now I'm not totally upset by this, would have been nice but not the end of the world.

Could you tell me which dealership you have ordered from who are getting you folding mirrors on the vRS?

Have you received the car yet? Didn't notice when you ordered, if so, got any pics?

Ta

Stoofa - i'm guessing that its perfectly feasible to fit a set of folding mirrors to a vrs, the dealer just has to order a set of L&K mirrors and fit them up.

Most sales guys are lazy ******s so won't be interested in doing anything other than ticking a box on an order form - its not straightforward they are not interested in my experience.

If you really want them, get the dealer to price up the parts and labour needed to put some l&k mirrors on and the associated switch/wiring needed and have them fitted at pdi. It can't be that hard..

Personally I don't see the need (i have folding mirrors on my subaru and i've never used them) but then i rarely park on the street.

o2p etc.

Hi Stoofa. My car's coming via Citygate Colindale - Sales Manager who organised this for me is Maurice Mendoza - he actually said more people should request it so SUK might listen and officially add it to the options list. Seems strange we get told different things by different dealers.

I only pushed them on this after seeing on another post somewhere on briskoda that it was a vRS option in mainland Europe.

That said, seeing is believing, so until I see them, I won't get too excited (car was built last week, in transit now, so should be next week or so - will confirm then)...

Horses for courses isn't it - can fully see that some people might not even use them at all, or even realise they're there! While others might use them multiple times each day! Depends where you end up having to park really :)

Having looked into folding retrofits on other cars, including the Mk1 Fabia, it wasn't as simple as just adding the different mirror units and the motors. The loom appeared to be different going into the door, which was where it got moved to my 'too difficult' list of mods :D

Good to see some pro-active dealers and sales people out there! Certainly a good idea; whether SUK will listen is another matter entirely emoticon-0143-smirk.gif

(MFSW on a non-DSG Octy anyone??! ;))

Look forward to hearing how your car turns out emoticon-0148-yes.gif

It really is only the same as heated seats on the pre-facelift Mk2's.

If you knew how to play the system you could have them and now they are just an option. :)
