Recommend me a wheel....

Featured Replies

Afternoon all

I am in the market for some new wheels for my vrs. I have the standard spiders in 16" in fantastic condition with no kerb marks etc and sat on nearly new Falken Ziex ZE-912 tyres. So am thinking of selling up and with the cash (plus more) and forking out for something fresh.

The options i have in mind are:

BBS CH's

BBS LM's

MK4 R32's

and a few other cheapys i have seen but have heard horror stories of some copy/replicas

So what I want to know is if you had a choice which of the above (or other) would you choose?

Many thanks

ps also some linkys to some good wheel supplier would be a plus  cheers

I love the look of the BBS CH's, however genuine ones cost well over a grand :o I personally would go down the route of getting replicas, they may be heavier but i think there are alot of good quality reps out there.

Hi

What colour is your car? Sometimes that can influence a decision on alloys, as black alloys can look great on certain colours.

Personally don't think you can beat the look of CH's, but if you want genuine then you will also need 5x112 to 5x100 adapters

If your happy with reps, then there are plenty of VAG alloys RS4/6/8, TT etc but they've been done to death

I will be in a similar position later this year, when I upgrade the alloys on mine, and I'm not sure what to go for

Quite like these at the minute

and they look a bit like CH's so that's a good thing

Have a look at the others on that site, plenty of nice ones to consider

Best of luck choosing, and let us know what you opt for

thanks for your input guys. i always think wheels on a car is one of the hardest decisions to make because if you dont get it right then it can look wack! the car is diamond silver and will soon be on weitec coilovers. im currently swaying towards some gun metal grey bbs ch's in 17" because the LM's are ££££££. has anyone on the forum fitted R32 rims? not sure how they would look.

damo they are a very good find - they are the closest i have seen to ch's - good find

I started a wheel archive in the stickies mate :)

Iirc r32s are in there and my yummy new bbs ch's which i traded a kidney for lol

I was looking at rota grids 9.5x18's (that's the only size the concave face comes in) something different from the usual bbs's etc.

Go on be different loads of nice rims out there :giggle:

I have rep 18" RS4's on mine

But going back to 17" spiders when i can find a set in Black :wonder:

bowders that is the best match for an audi/vw wheel on a mk1 octy i have ever seen

lloyd i have been searching high and low in the sticky and still cant make my mind up :giggle: your ch's looks the dogs by the way.

si - i understand where you are coming from, i just feel a little anxious in splashing out on something different and then when it comes to it disliking the look of them. i know i am a wimp

Cheers for comments

It is so difficult making the right choice, so the RS4's were my first stab as i did not want to spend huge dosh to only get the choice wrong.

Those rota's do appeal to me also..

I think they suit a smaller hatch than the VRS though better as too much of a wheel rim or dish inwards on the VRS does not look as good IMO.

I also like TD pro race 1.2's in black against a silver vrs.

Also it is about what stance your car has that can effect the wheel choice. So many considerations
