Dual Mass flywheel needed!

Featured Replies

I need to replace my flywheel and possibly clutch on my 08 Rs tdi cr(outside warranty). I really Pi**ed about it to be honest.

So what can I replace it with. Will and upgraded clutch be much more expensive then the standard one?

What kind of money Would I be looking at for parts and labour etc?

Thanks in advance

Cheers

P.S Can anyone can tell me the the skoda part number for the flywheel for this car. Engine code CEGA, Gearbox code KNY?

Only two year warranty in ireland. The garage don't mind about the remap though

Had DMF fitted by skoda on my octy est agreed on purchase in writing fortunately. Dealer (not skoda) did'nt realise cost. He ended up paying £1170 although i gave him £200 towards goodwill and to ensure it was fitted by skoda garage. Have seen o/e flywheels on ebay / raceparts shop (put vehicle type in) but have also heard of single flywheel conversions becoming the norm. Am a newbie so i could be wrong but did look into DMF FAILURES threads on (sorry) other tdi forums before i found this. Don't know how to do links, but hope this info helps.

If it's anything like my PD140, then there are two options. You don't know which until it's stripped down! As Skoda don't see fit to hold all the build information for the cars they make :dull:

I had the choice of LUK and Sachs. The LUK clutch kit was more expensive, the flywheel cheaper. Sachs was the other way round. So swings and roundabouts really...

I only needed a clutch kit on mine anyway and it was a Sachs and I picked up the bits I needed at GSF. I had to buy both clutch kits though, and then take back the one that wasn't required :wonder:

That reminds me, the ebay ones are LUK (I think). And it may be same case, ie only one or other req'd. Hope.

I had this problems on my 06 Octy, had a look around the forums and there was a known fault on the DMF's for failing. there is a number around here somewhere where you can claim the money back or just mention to your dealer that you will take it forward with Skoda as they shouldn't charge full price for a known fault.

I was originally quoted £1300 after I found it was a known Fault they agreed £300 which was the Labour.

Sorry it happened to you though.

I hope to get a good will gesture from Skoda since a flywheel was replaced when the car was a year old back in sept 2009 and it's been serviced with skoda since.

I've been quoted €850 all in to have the work carried out by Skoda inc parts. So hopefully skoda will cover at least half the costs....

I can get a luk flywheel via ebay delivered 280 pounds then a clutch to suit (extra) then fitting....

It's all money!
