Stupid Fog Light

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

For some reason my drivers side fog light going after some 5 to 10 days of use, only one side blows, usually the bulb looks opaque and with a crack, It just happen to that side.

I know the reflector (the shiny part inside de proyector) is kind of broken, could these be the problem? how can I fix it without changing the whole lamp?

Can be caused by water hitting the bulb when it is lit and hot. Check for water leaks or broken lamp assembly.

You haven't touched the bulb have you?

Not haven't touched the last 3 bulbs, anyway the go... I doubt its water drops hitting the bulb cause its summer here and not raining recently, maybe the absence of the reflect accumulates heat and overheats the bulb? is that actually posible?

Do you get much fog in Panama?

Bulbs blowing regularly is usually caused by over-voltage, or mechanically weak contacts causing the circuit to make and break several times per second. Since only one bulb is affected, I think we can rule out an over-voltage, which leaves vibration causing a contact to make and break. Check the terminals on the wiring plug(s) for the relevant bulb.

Not actually

This could be, I'll give it a check today...
