Fabia mk2 rear bumer

Featured Replies

Hello.

Some idiot ran into the back of me the other day which has damaged my rear bumper, theres not alot of damage and the guy wants to pay for the repairs rather than go though the insurance (which is fine with me as it would put my insurance up even tho it wasnt my fault)

.

Question is are all fabia bumpers the same? i have a Fabia 3 2010 reg (old stule not the new one that came out that year tho dont know if theres any difference to the back. This has reverse parking sensors as standard so does it need a special bumper an what is the approx cost of a bumper

why would it put your insurance up??? If he accepts liability he pays, and you get everything for repaired through you r insurance company who then claim from his company. this is from experience as well.

the problem with accepting cash off him for the repair is that if the work is not up to standard you can make the inurance get it sorted, you would then have to pester him if you dont.

no idea about the bumpers though,

According to ETKA there are 12 different rear bumpers for the Fabia...

Four model types:

Hatch

Hatch VRS

Combi

Combi VRS

then three "equipment" specs for each model:

Plain

Parking sensors

Tow bar & parking sensors

Go through your insurance company!

A rear end collision can do a lot more damage than is visible and the cost for a repair may be more than you think. Going to be easily north of 350.

Unless you get a contract with him, how do you know he will pay? Reckon the reality is that he probably doesnt have insurance.

I agree - go through your insurance.

Someone ran in the back of my Fiesta a few years ago - hell of a bang but you could hardly see any damage. When the Ford garage took the old bumper off, they ended up replacing the metal strut at the bottom of the hatchback door and fitted a new bumper which also had to be painted. The job cost around £850 and I don't think they did any unnecessary work.

Reported to my iunsurance but as the other driver admitted liability and as I had a witness, my insurance premium was unaffected and I paid no excess. Had to take the car back due to a water leak into the hatchback well following the repair. Got it sorted out without much hassle.

Would not accept his offer to pay as you would not get any resultant problems fixed as easily as I did.

Well looks like its going to go to the insurance anyhow due to the guy messing me around, the reason i think it would affect my insurance is i did a quote for my insurance (as its due to be renewed next month) without declaring a claim then ammended it to show a claim (non fault which put the premium up by £100

My thoughts exactly. Is very unfair but it even if you are involved in a non-fault accident most companies will still put up your premium.... not cool!

With your insurance renewal due, if you go through insurance make sure it gets sorted with both companies quick. You will have major issues should you try to change companies from your current insurer, who will hold back your NCB until the other parties company accepts full responsibility.

Even a non fault accident increases your risk of being involved in another, so your premium will rise regardless of fault.
