Mini cooper S

How fast are those things? I was behind one today and was in a 40 limit, the bloke driving obviously saw me behind (even in camoflauge yellow) and floored it in the 40 limit so got the jump on me, i waited 'til i was out of the limit about 100 yards (now on private test track) and floored mine, i must say the mini went well, it wasn't until i got up to 135 ish that i really started to pull him in. Would have been easier without my mother screaming at me ;) He turned off just before getting back onto public highway 30 limit, but i must say it seemed a quick car. Can they be modded?

Was he a hairdresser?

If it was a Works Cooper S, it could have up to 197bhp.

Quick beasties, but bloomin' noisy.....

Was going a bit fast for a hairdresser i reckon, and it was Blue! Do they do them in pink?

197BHP, well that would explain it then, cos i bet they are about half the weight of an Octy..

I've noticed that if you wanted the light met blue colour, it was only available on Cooper Ss, but since the facelift (why put the foglight in the middle? Aren't they missing the point? ) you can get ordinary Coopers in that shade too. Bet all the light blue Cooper S owners are p***ed off at losing their 'exclusivity' (even though you can't move for new minis these days ;) )

Is it good noise in the good sounding car category(TVR,Scooby,V8 engines, all ferraris) or is it an annoying sound a la modern 50cc moped 'drown out the traffic with that racket' noise?

Thought supercharged cars were a bit whiney or is that wrong?

Not sure it's all that lighter...same floor length as a freelander and thats quite big really, so has to be some weight penalty...generally regarded as the best handling car of it's class mind. But then there is so little else car like on it; hardly surprising it's going to handle well, although not an issue on a straight line.

I drove a standard one around Rockingham, wicked little car.

They can be easliy modded with a new supercharger pulley.

yeah there quick little cars but i had one in my vrs on a nice little 2 lane straght bit of road at around 80 and he was really pushing it 2 so it can be done with ease just gotta get it right i guess he didn't look happy that some skoda estate took over him!!!!!

Minis are around 1200+ kgs IIRC.
