03 VRS AIR INTAKE

Featured Replies

But paper doesnt have the same characteristics as cotton, if the cotton has filtration ability to a finer degree how can paper be better?

if you look at any of the highly modified cars on this site, i could almost bet every one of them will not be using a paper filter

Here's my 2p's worth on intakes.   I've spent a lot of time and money over the years, building and racing 1000cc motorbikes. Tuning and prepping such highly-strung engines teaches one a thing or two

How to loose power do the above ;-)

K&N filters are also not the same as green cotton filters (which i prefer), and are not as good imo

+1

My experience with both K&N and green panel filters would put green as better.

I have one going for sale also if anyone interested

How much would you sell the pannel filter for mate? :-)

Well, its a fact that a K+N increases air flow, and apparently filters just aswell... is this because of the oil used on them... the oil captures the particles.

Also if you just have a cone you get the Bwaarrrpp aswell. Personally i dont like hearing the revving engine over the induction or exhause noise of my car... in any vehicle.

Just waiting for the CAI to come in the post so i can replace the naff dualcone filter that comes with it, just need to know the diameter of the pipe on the end of the CAI lol!

oh and any1 got a link to one of these green filters.... i thought about just whacking a 57i on

I'm looking at getting a green cotton cone filter off ebay for my CAI. What diameter does the neck need to be? Is the conical version better than the standard cone as it looks like it has more surface area?

Believe it is 76mm(3") buddy...but does depend on your diameter of the CAI pipe as my CAi is ABD and 3" yours maybe the same size as your MAF which is 2.5". or 64mm

My K&N 57i no long fitted

I may fit a Apexi cone to mine to try out later.

would removing the snorkel help air flow? seems like a bit of a bottle neck

No, that is needed to create a funnel for air to flow straight into MAF.

Does look good that Lee!

Get yourself a cold air feed sorted for it if you can.

It just infront of the original cold air feed, which the air box takes cold air from but I'll have a look to see what I can do.

Looks nice that but expensive !! What tip pipe you running ?

Would deffo run a 3 inch cold air feed to it

Cannot be adapted to run 3 inch maf ?

I'm running standard TIP and standard MAF, yeah could easily run a 3" MAF. Would I be able to bolt one straight on or will the map need fettling slightly?
