Washer Bottle Question

Featured Replies

My rear wash is not working, I think the pipe from the washer pump has come off as washer fluid comes out from under the front of the car when I use the rear wash wipe. How do I get access to the washer pump?

Cheers

If it's from under the engine bay, it's by the ECU where the pipe goes into the bulkhead.

Get someone else to spray while you look and you'll find it easy enough. Then just clip them back together.

Thanks. Should I be able to see the problem from the top of the engine bay?

As you have described it, it is not at the bulk head, so to get at the pump, you need to remove the screws from the n/s wheel arch cover from the bottom up, enough to just look in and you will see the pipe has come off the pump just push it back on, and refit the screws..

There is a post on here, do a search but it is simple enough to do.

Radiotwo

I'm not sure about the vRS's, but on my 1.4 you could easily see it.

Or, there is as RadioTwo said, but in my experience when it broke there the front wash stopped working too as it drained the washer bottle striaght away, whereas the higher up one doesn't lose water unless it's being used.

Thank you both. I'll check later, looks like rain on the way :(

If it is not at the bulkhead, (it's the most common place it comes off) then it will be at the pump.

Just checked and it's the joint near to the bulkhead which has come adrift :)
