Phone holder

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I am thinking about some sort of phone holder for my Fabia - I occasionally use CoPilot sat-nav on my phone but the Fabia has no-where convenient to put my phone to use it.

As it's only occasional usage, I don't want anything permanent like a Brodit. I was thinking possibly something like this:

Any other ideas?

i no you say you dont want a brodit, but i just fitted mine and its so good. and dosnt damage the dash as screws into an orignal fixing!

i have my iphone mount screwed into the cubby hole beneath the stereo, perfect for sat-nav, plugging into the usb of my stereo and if i ever get rid then its just a case of a new one

I have my I phone in a cradle that attaches to the vent slats easily removed leaves no damage picked up on eBay very cheap

Mine is a simple cradle stuck to the top of the ashtray, just get a new ashtray lid when/if I sell the car

I've just got one of these magnetic jobbies - £2 from expansys. Got them in each car and our phones / PDA's have the metal plates on the back so all interchangeable. Works fine and dead cheap.

My hand! :bandit:

I'm my view if your not confident enough to use it in your hand, then you shouldn't be using it in a cradle. Turn it off if it effects your ability to drive safely.

For as long as people can smoke, eat, drink, use sat navs and car stereos etc while driving a car, I will continue to use my mobile as it is no more distracting than the many other distractions that are around to tempt us. I only use it when it's safe to do so, don't need to look at it and I drive with one hand on the wheel normally. I can understand that the law needs to be there to look as though they are doing the right thing and to try to prevent stupid thick people with slow reaction times from crashing, but I don't think it should be a blanket law because people's ability levels are different. I'm in my 30's, I've been driving since I was 17 (and before that off road), At times I have driven my cars like I stole them and I've never had a crash, that's quite an achievement considering the many t0ssers I have had to predict and make allowances for.

The biggest dangers I find on the roads are people driving way under the speed limits, people pulling out onto main roads without looking and people stopping on main roads to let someone pull out from a side road. Aside from this we are quite blessed in the UK because we usually have he lowest number of accidents in the world and despite what laws the government introduces, they will never eliminate all accidents, unless you remove human control completely.

I've just got a simple one that slots into the air vents. Anything lower or higher for me affects the way I drive ie looking down or blocking my view.

I got the Tom Tom iphone holder......which is far too expensive for what it is/does
