Hi all was out in my mk1 vrs octavia the day I was in 3rd and put my foot down got to 3000revs then the engine kept on reving but no change in speed it almost feels like the wheels are spinning but they don't is this my clutch??? I can drive the car fine going slow through the rev range

When it revs up and you take your foot off the gas you can almost feel the engine re engage that's why at first I though it was the wheels spinning then finding grip again any help appreciated

Classic sign of a worn out clutch.

Thought as much now I'm off to cry in my coffee :( :(

Dont forget there are options cheaper than OEM replacement, i.e. single mass flywheel and clutch.

G60 flywheel, GSF VR6 LUK clutch kit

just add bolts - approx £200 for parts
