That green looks very like my Polo's LA6C green. Which I can't find any touch up paint for! Made me think an MPi estate would be nice! Shame I missed out on the 2ltr one.

Nice to see someone doing something different for a change! Your vRS wagon was awesome though. The vRS skoda should have made in the mk 1. Tempted to do something like it.

Is a PD130 / 150 swap on a furby difficult?

Very impressive, have nothing more ambitious on the cards for mine than painting the chrome grille black and maybe swapping the badges. Maybe a wheel refurb if I have the cash to spare.

The MPG isn't great on the MPI but as I make only short and irregular journeys at present it hardly matters.

Do you have any plans for the seats? I hate the fabric design of the seats on the classic, but suppose as you only sit in them you rarely see them

Been playing again.

Many many moons ago I bought a set of Alpine components from Walkie on here (for those that might remember him, its been about 5 years I reckon..lol). They are probably vintage by now but been listening to the standard fair flapping about for a while so decided to fit them. Grand plan is to strip the doors down, sound deaden them and then amp these up but for now just running off the headunit (4x55w Sony Xplod type thing).

Standard speaker removed, handly the old rivets stuck out, this could be useful.

Now the components I have are Alpine SPS-171a. Not to put a fine point on it they are fairly chunky. Having fitted quite a few speakers to Fabias I know mounting depth can be an issue, but after a bit of measuring I was fairly sure they would go in. So I got the jigsaw out and started making some baffle rings.

I thought a couple of 15mm baffle rings and one of the standard Alpine adapters would probably do the trick.

With the standard rivets still sticking out of the carrier I thought id drill some matching holes in the back of the ring would act as a good locator.

And that snapped into place and secured.

A second baffle ring added and the standard Alpine ring..

and it just fits..

The magnet is just touching the window runner, and yes the window still does up a down, bonus.

Whipped the speaker back out and soldered some OFC onto the back and fed through the door grommet

Mounted the x-over onto the door carrier and wired everything up. Alpine tweeter mounted behine the standard trim so looks factory.

Crap quality recording but sounds pretty good considering and a lot better than standard (no suprise). One side down (and yes the door trim fits back on) and they other is underway. Not bad for a few hours work, happy days.

Looks good Ross. What are you using for the sound deadening? Need to pick some up for mine but not sure what to go for.

When I get around to it i'll get some off ebay, when I did the estate and the pick up I bought a couple of silver backed rolls that worked pretty well and a fraction of the price of dynamat etc.

That kinda thing.

That mpi will barely bloody move if you put that much sound deadening into it lol

What ya on about? its got moaaar power.

Very nice. I have found with mine, the woofers are a little too close to the grill on the door card, and it vibrates them badly on good bass. I am taking a multitool to mine to cut out the slats, clean up the edges, and have an exposed woofer. Will hopefully not get damaged in use.

Yeah, that looks fine for me. Got some for Fabia #2 off eBay, but can't remember which stuff I got!

As you say, was good value compared with Dynamat. Want to do the boot floor and underneath the rear bench too.
