Yeah he's on his second one now.

Just depends on how busy he is and his willingness to take on another big project.

That would be something to discuss with them.

Gave the Fabia its first proper clean this year, ended up using snow foam, two different polishes and two waxes. Also gave it a good scrub up inside, was a tip inside as my lad goes horse riding on Sundays so we normally end up bringing half the farm back with us.

Left my back seats at work as I needed more space for lugging tools around for this weekends work so can pop them in tomorrow before I start, think they are still clean..lol

Looking good Ross, I like the snowfoam pic.

Cheers mate, yeah she ain't bad.

Hopefully won't be to much work when it comes to painting time.

Looking great Ross. Looking forward to the 1.8t :-) Bet that'll be fun.

Would a green grille surround not "fit" better? It might just be me but the black grille almost looks out of place with the green.

Other than that you've done an amazing job

The black grill fits with the Avus wheels being black and green. Also it's not obvious in photos but the handles and rub strips are planted in gloss black too.

Ah I see. Didn't notice them. Makes a lot more sense now :-)

How soon will you be blasting around in the 1.8t

Maybe Summer, might even be into winter. Depends on funds. Just bought a runabout to use whilst it's off the road so that will help take the pressure off.

Now to strip it down and prune all the excess off that I don't need. Then clean it all up and start sourcing the parts I need.

damn, this is gonna be a cute little rocket.

Engine pruned down to something workable. Oddly enough despite being a 2001 model had a K03 turbo not an S but irrelevant as I'm goIng hybrid anyhow.

Just need to get it back home now so I can get it ready.

Glad you finally found a donor.

That mpi (more power indeed) is gonna be one awesome little car!

Will be keeping an eye on this thread!

Sweet :)

will be nice to see this when its done

What sort of horsepower will this be putting out? And will you be using the octavia running gear or something else?

  • Author

Should be about 250bhp ish, not going mental.

As for running gear, not sure what you mean. I will be using an 02J gearbox the same as the Octavia yes.

Should be quite a beast when it's done. Look forward to seeing it. :)

The power of a highly tuned TDi with less weight.

Sorry, ill be more specific, i meant in terms of driveshafts for instance, can you use the fabia ones or the octavia ones? Same cv joints? And also, what about mounts? Custom or oem ones?

  • Author

Mounts and driveshafts are all available off the shelf as it were. None of the Octavia stuff will fit and non of the MPi will do just a matter of sourcing some that do.
