Yours look a little different but can mount speaker in the same way.

good job mate

Cheers, no rattles so far :)

I'm sure I read somewhere that closed cell foam mats, like those used for camping, can be successfully used as cheap sound-deadening.

More than likely, egg boxes anyone?

More than likely, egg boxes anyone?

Depends if you are trying to isolate engine and road noise, or panel drumming. Egg boxes may work, but if cardboard gets damp, and then warmed and dried out, and this is repeated often enough, they can spontaneously combust. Goodness gracious great balls of fire

Always dangerous having a 'quick' look on ebay but found a 12" Kicker sub and amp local for a bargain price, so popped over today and picked it up.

Feeling like a kid again ;)

Haha, very good. Bet that's 'punchy'...

Do you not like your boot space very much though? You should try a Fabia estate! ;)

Less boot space, less shopping :)

Just a few cables to tidy up with some p clips. And I think the amp should have end covers, might see if I can source some.

need to get mine mounted like that.

This has ben a really good read. Really impressed with what you've done to both yours and your misses' car, although i would have thought black wheels with the pink would look better

Here's a post about budget sound deadening http://www.talkaudio...bq-alternative/

Interesting approach, cheers for the link. How much do you reckon would be needed for say the underfloor area of the Octy2, round the rear wheelaraches plus underneath the rear bench? Looks thinner than the stuff I used on the Fabia last time, so maybe two layers would be needed?

This was the stuff I used last time on the Fabia - have tracked it down now. Can't see any currently on sale though: http://goo.gl/qAMki

That's what I used. Pretty good stuff really, a lot better than nothing.

Which one Ross, the eDead or SoundX ?

That was my thinking too, don't think I'll get value for money out of the 'proper' Dynamat stuff really! Any idea on quantity for those bits of the Octy2?

edead mate, worked well I think.

Hmmm, yeah. Can't find any on eBay at the moment though...

Picked up another little treat for the car today, thanks to Softscoop.

Just need a good scrub up but in pretty good nick, I've seen a lot worse at work that's for sure. Brightens the interior up a little (not that it needed it with a green dash..lol) but much more supportive in the twisties for sure. Funniest part of the day being stuck on a kerb outside Softscoops place, cars that stiff as the back right hand wheel dropped down it picked the left front up and was stuck there with the wheel spinning..lol

Glad to provide some entertainment :D

Cheers for sorting out those bumper clips as well

Your welcome mate, thanks for the route tips for the way home, a bit longer distance wise but so much quicker. Wish I'd come that way and wouldn't have been sat for hour and half on the A42.

Nice work emoticon-0103-cool.gif

Looking good
