Optic Blue Lamin-x

Featured Replies

Hi

Wondering if anyone has any pics of a race blue Octy vRS with Optic Blue lamin-x fitted ?

just wondering what it would look like :smirk:

Dallan

I fitted the Blue to the side repeaters but subtle grey to the headlamps/fogs and LEDs. I think doing the hole lights in blue would look a bit "kevin" and attract plod.

Not an Octavia, I know, but I just thought I point out that Lamin-x fades over time, heres a pic of it after just over a year of it being on the car

Picture is with the sun shining down on to the rear car and you can only just see the blue tint on the reflectors

Hope this helps

PS never been stopped by the police whist I had them on !

Thanks Karl, that helps, dont suppose you have any from when the film went on?

I'd suggest caution on using such a product, you know how tetchy the traffic cops are now about tinted glass & how it will affect the clarity & optics of glass & how it may distort traffic light colours! emoticon-0114-dull.gif

Its not on the windscreen, just on the lights :giggle:

Like this, but i want to see how it looks on a blue car

Again, suggest caution. You must only display white lights on the front of a vehicle.

They mustn't be RED, YELLOW, ORANGE OR BLUE! Indicators are the exception to that, outside of highway & emergency service vehicles.

I know that I got told off for having a blue headlight shield on the headlight of my motorbike, all though it was most effective in clearing a route in front of me. emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Hi Dallan,

Will have a look this evening but I don't think I have.

What I will say is that there is not a noticeable reduction in light output IMO, also the blue tint has the effect of changing the yellowish light to a white light.

That is to say it that the headlamps only look blue when they are off, when on just a white light output.

Its alright to show blue when the lights are off just not when they are on

So i guess no one has done this then on a race blue octy then?

Hi Dallan,

Had a hunt around and only found this

BlueTint.jpg

From the date the picture was taken the tints had been on for about 7 or 8 months (already starting to fade).

Found out afterwards that they should be waxed with a good quality wax which might stop them fading so much.

No problem, in fact thinking of buying some more now, but I've changed to new headlamp surrounds so should be a interesting fit.

BTW it did pass the MOT with the tints on

Glad you liked the car

Front lights look like this now
