How much were the FL rear lights?

Very nice... Every time I see pics of an anthracite one now I am moving closer to making it my next color when I change my white one.

Looking good bud emoticon-0148-yes.gif

£53 delivered for the pair.... :)

Gone up a bit now though :o -these are the ones

Looks great. Think the pre-FL looks great in anthracite (as does the FL too!). Shame they didn't introduce it sooner really.

Nice job emoticon-0148-yes.gif

the side skirts look a different colour, are they and if so what is the colour? the contrast looks good.

At a guess, left unpainted so appear matte-black, same as the splitter, and how they appear on most GTIs iirc.

They do look really good.

Yep, that's the default appearance on the GTi. A standard black plastic finish. They're available in ready-primed versions, for the ED30, Pirelli and R32, but are much more expensive to buy that way.

I suppose you could always get the GTi ones, then get a bodyshop to prep and paint them. Would work out cheaper overall.

Yip-unpainted, unprimed, textured matt black.

On some colours I do think they would need colour coding, but they should match in well with the matt black alloys that arrived today.... ;)

Yep, works as they are against Anthracite emoticon-0148-yes.gif

would they look good left unpainted on a Black Magic car or need to be painted the same ie Black Magic?

It's the same as std unpainted plastic rubbing strips along the doors, that sort of finish. I think mine look OK against the Black Magic paintwork.

There is an argument for saying that the skirts are bigger and more noticeable, so the only real way would be to test fit them and see what you reckon :)

Google for an image of a black gti, should give you good indication.

Edit: this thread might be handy: http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15

Works well on the GTI because the lower half of the back bumper is the same, unpainted matt black, so it matches nicely.

Think they'd look good. Would look rubbish unpainted on my race blue though alas.

Incidentally, are peeps informing their ins cos when fitting these?
