Photies!

Featured Replies

Well at last I got an opportunity to take some pictures when the weather was decent and the car was clean :D

Taken on a fairly cheapo camera, but however.

Changes are afoot though-those wheels may not be on there much longer!! B)

Looks good. It looks like it's been lowered, had an aftermarket front splitter and side skirts (Mk5 GTi?) put on. Front lenses and fogs look smoked too if I'm not mistaken.

I thought you could only get the grey in ltd editions vrs in phase 1's

Looking good B)

I regret not going for Anthracite now and where are those side skirts from?

Looks excellent - 4th pic especially! :D

Looks good

Black wheels would finish it off nicely...

:p

I think you are right,

The op's car could be an le but with replacement Zenith's on as the original LE wheels had a tendancy to buckle.

Look very nice by the way

They did do a very small amount of 'normal' cars in Anthracite before they changed their mind about the availability with the LE about. Wanted the latter more exclusive.

Yes it was possible to get the anthracite and not be an LE.

Looks fab, and I'm also loving that 4th picture.... B)

Stunning pics of a very nicely sorted motor.... looking forward to seeing the new wheels!!!

agreed would look great!

I really like the way you have upgraded to the FL rear lights and then tinted the clear section to match the paintwork.

Have you fitted spacers to the wheels too? Nice aggressive profile!

Very tidy

Thanks all-some very shrewd observations from everyone!! :p

Yes: spacers, LCR splitter, FL tail lights, Golf MkV GTI skirts, lamin-x subtle tint on head/fog lights and grille surround, Eibach lowering springs.

It's not an LE, but a late pre FL.

And as suggested, matt black wheels are on their way.... ;)

Yep, that's what I was alluding to.. ;)

Keep me in mind for your Zenith's if their taking up space. I'm local.

Will be keeping them for when I sell the car mate, sorry.

There is a full set for sale on vagdrivers-click me

Lamin-X are out of stock of the subtle tint, how annoying. So you stuck it to the grille surround as well? I wasn't sure whether to paint it or tint it, yours looks good. I'll be ordering some when it's back in stock.

Interested in your spacers. What size are they? I've never fitted spacers, do you get a spacer and some longer wheel bolts?

I want rear wheel spacers but I'm concerned they will increase the already problematic issue of inside edge rear tyre wear!?

Would you not use optic blue lamin-x on yours? :wonder:

The spacers are 15mm all round, and some kits come with bolts, some you need to buy seperately.I used 45mm, 'radius' seated bolts.

I'm not sure if it makes any difference-incidentally my geometry was set up with them on the car.

Another plus side is it definitely seems far easier to straddle those bloody speed 'cushions'.... :)

Thanks for the reply. I did look at blue, but I think I prefer them in the subtle tint. Maybe I'll start a thread asking for photos of the blue tint. Lamin-X don't have any blue cars with the blue tint in their gallery! :wonder:

I'm going to look into spacers and lowering it, I think it looks great. How much is the car lowered?

Lowered by 20mm-ish. Make sure if you get spacers that they are hubcentric type-non hubcentric are a disaster.

There is a recent thread re blue lamin-x here.

Also search m0bov's threads-he has a blue FL with subtle tinted headlights.

Cool, after having a look through his Flickr account, I think I'll do the same and go for subtle tint.

What size wheels do you have, 18? I'd like to lower mine and add spacers I think, but mine are 17s so not sure how it would look. They might look a bit small once lowered.
