Almost my build week...

Featured Replies

Well, Monday is the start of build week 13, and hopefully the birth of my Superb Estate. I called the dealer today to see if the build week had finally been fixed, but he says it just says build week 13 with no other codes... so I'm not holding out much hope that it wont slip back again next week, especially as other have referred to codes such as 10, 20 and 30 depending on the progress of their order.

Suppose I'll just have to wait and see :( Wish me luck :S

Hi

James emailed me yesterday to say 'Still showing as production Wk14 (4th April) 'Not long to go now! I'm looking forward to seeing it myself!!

Nice not to have to chase a dealer for info.

Any idea how long from build to delivery? Have heard it's about 3 weeks, which would be great.

Will ask James to register it in May, rather then late April, to get the max from the car tax (at £750 !st year :'( don't want to loose a single days worth.

Ouch!!- my 1.6CR has £0 first year tax

Yes it's painful :swear: but the pleasure of 3.6L's of V6 will soon make me feel better

I hope your bw remains static too then :)

I've got just under 3 wks to wait as long as my bw of 15 doesn't slip. To quote a famous football manager, it's squeaky bum time! :giggle:

Build week on computer, should also be able to give you the day of the week, When I ordered my car back in 2010, my dealer was able to show me on his computer, that the car was scheduled for build in week 9 day 2, which was week commencing sunday 28/02/2010, and car was then confirmed built on 01//03/2010.

I was then able to track shipping details from factory, to arrival in Cork, and onward delivery to dealer in Dublin.

That's what I always thought, hence the reason I thought I'd give them a call as it's getting so close. Oh well, I'll ask again when I take the Fabia for a wash on Saturday.

Imagine how frustrating it is for ME... my Superb is sat on the dealer's forecourt in Newcastle, and has been since Thursday, and will be until Monday, because (bless 'em) they're "too busy" to deliver it before then.

I've told them to put a tank of fuel in it and i'll drive up and get it. But i've even been waiting over 24 hours just for them to answer that simple question!

Benfield Skoda, Newcastle upon Tyne... avoid them like the plague. USELESS.

Why o WHY did you use Benfield?

I live close to the town, and have attempted to buy 2 cars from them now! - my mam's Kia Sportage and my Superb. They FAILED on both occasions to get my business.

With the Sportage, they offered me a 6 month old car (XS Model - Middle range) for £400 MORE than i could buy a new (Titan Model - Top of the Range) for, from Yorkshire!

With the Superb, the 1st question they asked me, was "How do i intend to pay for it"! - Ok, so i'm in my 20's still, but SO?! i gave my money to DMKeith in Bradford instead. - great service.

Ooo, and after 3 attempts, they still aint fixed the iPod dock on my Wife's Kia Cee'd.... we have now gave up....

I'll be in the town later today - could call in and take photo's of it for you!

My car was delivered last Novemebr before all the bad weather kicked off and delivery was six weeks once the car was made. Three weeks is the probablyt he quickest a car can make it from factory to dealer, but can be held for upto 2 weeks in Emden and upto 5 days at Grimsby.

In April 2010, my car left the Factory, and was delivered to me within 7 days.

BUT, i was told, that the 4x4 Superb Estate's (at that time anyway) were assembled in Audi Germany...

From Order, to delivery was around 8 weeks. - but of course, that was when it (the estate) was 1st launched and before it became so popular.

(It was ordered on the 25th of Feb 2010, was delivered before the end of April, and had the following Options were Sunset Glass, Heated screen & Washers, Park Assist, MDI, Matts & Spare wheel)

Well if you go past Benfield, have a look out for a candy white, twindoor TDI with tinted windows... registration ends "SYX". Snap away! I'd love to see what it looks like!

I got a call this morning saying that the car CAN be collected on Friday and it will have a full tank of fuel in it... the only problem is they said it'll be ready "anytime after 3pm". I said to them that's not good enough (they've already had the car since Thursday). I'm driving 150 miles from Derby to collect it and will have a long drive home, so i told them i want it ready for midday. Otherwise i'm going to be sat in Friday rush-hour traffic the whole way back home. They simply refused and said 3pm was the earliest.

I think they're basically saying "we don't give a toss about you, our contract is with your leasing company so it's not like bad service is going to cost us business". If i was a private buyer i bet i'd be driving the car by now.

Just seen a brand new Superb Estate on a transporter parked next to McDonalds on Elland Road in Leeds.

So, BigMac before any sort of urgency then?

Hi,

Quick question. Does it wear the new Skoda badge???

I believe the new badges aren't being fitted just yet, possibly coming with the my12 cars, or those provided from 2012.
