Thinking of changing my car

Featured Replies

I currently have a Skoda vRS and am thinking about a change. I've had an Audi before so would like something different, any suggestions to start my considerations with?

The following points (in no particular order) are wants:

- Value for money.

- Spacious.

- Not slow.

- Good handling.

- Lots of gadgets.

:)

Staying VAG or going outside the group ?

Price would also help.

Open to VAG or anything else - budget of c.£20k. Needs to be new / under 2 years old.

With those specs, you can have almost anything. BMW/Audi/Merc/Lexus (although only the small engined ones), or you can get loads from any other manufacturer.

To get a better list, we need to know fuel (petrol/diesel), body (hatch/saloon/estate), etc.

Auto trader shows loads of interesting cars that fit your bill. Being you've already done Skoda and Audi, how about a nice 320d sport estate?

Apart from the handling aspect - go bold........low-mileage diesel Chrysler 300c :)

Diesel Chrysler? Hemi or nothing!!!!

Hatch or estate, not saloon (two kids with bikes etc dictate this). Only ever owned petrol but could be swayed to diesel. Those Chrysler 300c's look like a hearse in their estate form  BMW 320d sport, hmmmm, bit boring, BMW's don't really appeal to me, never have.

Brera or 159 V6 might be interesting. I suspect the mpg would be terrible though. Or even a VXR8 :)

VXR8 - 6 litre :o I would need a second mortgage to run that.

Never owned an Alfa so have to have one at some point - I do like the estate versions of these - everyone says they are unreliable, how true is this on these up to 5 years old?

Better give James at Allams a pm and ask him what the guy on the other side of his showroom says about Alfa reliability.

Don't you go dissing hearses :p
