  • I spoke to my local dealership when ordering and they said if you get a car pre week 22 it cannot be updated to the new 7 digit postcode thingy? Could be wrong though.

Does anyone know when the DAB option will be available on the Amundsen unit? My vRS is due to be built in a month or so but my dealer had no idea about adding DAB to the car.

Hi looks as if you may not get a sat nav major problems apparently deleted, but if you do get it it wont be the + unit standard because you have to spec the dab on order

I thought it was established on here last week, from feedback via various dealers, that all current Amundsen orders will be honoured.

My vRS is due to be built in five weeks time and I have been told I will get the Amundsen unit and it will be the 7 digit postcode friendly model.

7 digit but not possibly the amundsen+

That's what I reckon too. My car is a model year 12 but I would imagine that the Amundsen+ isn't going to appear until later this year.

I got my new Fabia last Saturday and the Amundsen was supplied with 7-digit postcode capability. The unit is smart, great with ipod and the radio sound quality is excellent (AM especially) but the sat nav itself is not the most user friendly. I have got used to having a GPS readout of the car's speed (more accurate than speedo) and a warning of when I have gone over the speed limit with my TOM TOM GO 720. Unless of course I have not worked out how to set that on the Amundsen. I will also miss the speed camera warnings.

It is not a worthless piece of kit at the £425 I paid for it but I would not think is was worth over £800 in a Polo.

European agreement amongst manufacturers of vehicles is they will not put real speed or camera locations on factory nav units. This is with EU government

Not worthless now its got the 7 digit, when I had mine it did not have the seven digit upgrade only 6 like the continent but now fine, strange you lot are gettin it on sd cars when some people arnt getting upgrade, bullboy is one member he had a flat no to this request and he only had the car in feb,so slightly unfair i think.

no you dont get camera alerts but just keep to the speed limits, there are plenty of toys out there that can find them anyway
