Fabia vRS and supply of MDI cable

Featured Replies

Hi i picked up my car last week i already had a spare cable so i didnt bother checking. But then the dealer rang on saturday to say were sorry but we forgot to give you one weve ordered one in for you . I hadnt even mentioned it , why cant all dealers be like that.

Also as ill have a spare cable soon if anyone doesnt manage to get it off there dealer ill send it out to whoever wants it if you cover the postage

Would it be possible to run the MDI cable into the glovebox? I'm a bit concerned about security as I like to leave my iPod permanently connected but in it's current location, it'll be on full view for all passers by.

Had to wait 4 weeks to get the MDI cable from my dealer. When it finally arrived it was the wrong one - they had ordered the one with the 3.5mm jack on the end despite me specifically asking for the ipod version! Now having to wait again.... not really good enough in my opinion!!

Why they sent me an MDI lead with a 3.5mm jack on the end I'll never know as it's about as much use to me as a bleedin chocolate fireguard....

Would think with a bit of drilling it should be possible, although the glove box is cooled so may make that part redundant if a hole in the back of it.

Sorry, just skimmed this thread as I need to head out - picked the car up last night but forgot to ask about the MDI cable  - despite having made a mental note to do so! It's a year old so if I can't find one in the car I expect I'll have to buy one - no issue there.

I need one for an iPhone - assume Halfrauds should be able to sort me out?

I pick mine up on Wednesday, emailed the dealer to ask wether they supply a cable and they said I'll be getting an iPod/iPhone cable. Would have preferred an USB cable as I'll be using a pen drive more than my iPod, however I suppose it will be good to have both

Get a vw usb cable off Ebay because every Vw gets one standard they arent really worth much so spare ones come up all the time,no point paying £20 or whatever Skoda want for one.

I have a few ipod mdi leads I would be willing to send out for beer money/postage

just ask the dealer for the usb one, you get the choice and now i have two as they said i may as well keep both

Right, next up, anyone got an idiot's guide how to work the bloody thing?

I've connected my iPhone but it just starts playing track one of the first alphabetically stored album (as good as it is, only so many times I want to hear 'A' Bomb in Wardour Street !).

How to browse and then play different albums?

Also, I've got Bluetooth, it starts playing a track then 'PHONE' comes up on the display - it appears that playback of the track continues, but with no sound!!
