Alloiy wheel bolt covers

Featured Replies

I've recently taken delivery of a 2009 Octavia Elegance 2.0 PD TDI. I noticed that the locking wheel bolts had no covers on. I researched these boards and found the part no and asked the supplying dealer - a Seat dealership - to order them. When I went to collect them they couldn't get them to fit. Anyone any ideas?

Wrong size??

The caps for the locking nuts are a different profile...

Mine are silver to match the wheels, I will have to get the part number of those for when I get my wheels refurbed.

you read my mind I'll let u do the leg work to find a part number for them  :moon:

They are printed on the packet in my picture

You can have mine if you like - I've removed the locking bolts after stripping the star shape off the head of one which was on too tight, and almost having to resort to rather ugly measures to get it off.

When I tried to order a replacement I was informed that the star design is no longer available and I would have to order a new set of 4 of the new design - guess others may have had issues as well.

I've replaced all 4 with ordinary bolts (£4 ea.) together with ordinary caps - who nicks alloys these days? (Especially the Škoda 15" Pyxis variety)

The stealer supplied them, I provided the part no as detailed in this board, but the chap couldn't get them to go on. Is there a knack of getting them to go on?

Should push on no problem, have you got the right ones? For the locking wheel nut the code has an extra 'A' in it - 1Z0 601 173 A Z37

A tip - having lost and replaced two of the locking nut covers at £0.60 each exc VAT, use some blutack to keep them in place otherwise you'll be on first name terms with your local parts department...

Thats a good idea, I'm already 3 locking nut covers and 1 nut cover missing. Last car I had with nut covers was a 1982 Ford Cortina !

Thanks for the part numbers, I'll get mine replaced next week

Yep, I use blutak on mine too and they've stayed on for over 4 weeks.

Need to get those darker wheel bolt covers for when I get my wheels done too!

been looking for weeks and not seen any...

A better more relevant search to do is 'wheel bolt covers VW'.

One of the items returned are these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Genuine-VAG-Wheel-Lug-Nut-Caps-Bolt-Covers-VW-/120702562293?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c1a6eeff5.

I've bought a couple of sets from this seller (with a memorable name) in the past and they fit the Skoda bolts, including the OE locking nuts, perfectly.
