I think whats putting me off is that there's a fair few air bubbles no bigger than a 1 cent sized coin, but it says basically not to worry they will go over time.did anyone else have this? Do they go?

it looks alot darker in the pic too compared to seeing it in the flesh,i think i may have to let it grow on me but i'm fairly happy with how it looks.

i'll have to take some pics with the lights on see what it looks like then too.

also fitted my new aerial from the latest polo £13 from VW so don't get the ones off eBay for £15

anyhow little rant over comments welcome good or good both are welcome :wonder: Thanks for looking

I like it,looks ok to me.I wonder what it would look like on a silver car...might give it a go one day.

I likes it. :)

Which do you think it looks like?I'll tell you if your correct.

edit:

i know its hard to tell from the pics but have a go lol

far away looks like lamin x, but cant see it up close. looks good either way i wanna do it to mine, ive done the front but not the back yet. if it is lamin x how was it to fit, i found fly eyes pretty easy to work with

It is Lamin-X

it was ok to fit just got a few air bubbles but they have started to go already when i've just been out to look

just use a hair dryer makes it easier to work with.

tidy m8 :) ill give it a go soon i recon and put it on the fronts cus fly eyes up close looks abit tatty

If you tinted just the white area I think it would look better tbh, not a fan of the all black look.

Doh! Olly your lights look spot on (but they are the pre-facelift ones so they may suit it better).

anybody got pics of later version lights tinted ( just the white area) i wish i had pre face lights now lol

You darkened the red bits? I just did the white bits on my black vrs. I preferred it that way but saying that yours looks top.

What you think?

i like yours too

i wanted to get rid of some of the red, it looked really red don't ask

i was thinking though that some of the VXR's have tinted rear lights compared to the lower models because i keep telling my mum to get her rear lights done like the VXR lights.

i'm starting to like it now looks good at night aswell.

Nice my friend. I'm wanting to do mine with Flyeyes just. Already got the stuff. Just haven't had the time.

Thanks.

The lights are a little bit of a pain to get out with the two nuts behind the plastic trim but i got there in the end.

Thanks.

I was hoping to do it without taking the lights out :smirk:

was thinking the same but decided to take them out so i could try and do a better job lol

i'm glad i did take em out though would of been much harder on the car.

Too dark and looked nicer standard IMO

This is how i plan to do my lights.. whats the difference between the facelift and pre-facelift, and what year did they start from on the vrs?

I think it is dammed right dangerous to darken the lights - it makes it harder for other drivers to see what is going on. Also by essentially camouflaging/stealthing the various sections of the cluster it increases the reaction time for people not familiar with the car as they may not know what colour light to expect to emanate from what section. Is this the new chavvy mod now that Lexus style rear lights are passée? I just hope this kind of thing results in an MOT fail like overly darkened windows should be.

they aint that dark jesus not compared some some i've seen that are totaly black there's even a fabia on here that are all black apart from the white bit must admit it looks very good, you can still see the red during the day quite easily on mine it's just trying to show that in a picture from an iphone is quite difficult, if you've ever looked out of a tinted window you'd know how much of a benifit they are, it's only like saying driving with sunglasses on should be illegal.

the Lamin-X on my back lights is legal and allows enough light to pass an M.O.T
