610 miles

Featured Replies

Had a course in Eastbourne this week so went down in the car, on the way down I was averaging 64 MPG ( on the trip computer ) and doing only 65-70 mph with a few bursts over 80. The car was parked up for a few days until I went into Eastbourne centre which was a 18 miles journey they and back to the hotel, on the way back home the computer was saying 60MPG. By the time I got back to Bradford I had done 610 miles and with only 5 miles left in the tank and refilled up which cost £58 for a full tank. So it cost me £30 they and back which to be fair is alot cheaper then the train. The car ( 1.9 TDI )is 6 years old.

very good and i thought i was going to do well this week at around 420 miles

Is that 420 from a full tank? I can get near 400 from a petrol Polo GTi. . .

Just doesn't seem like much of a gap considering.

yeah full tank thats what i'm on atm still saying i got 120 miles left but i wont get that i'll be expecting around the 50 mpg mark from this tank.

that is good from a petrol though take it its mostly motorway.

I once got 648 miles from a tank in mine. That was with brimming the tank and driving until the range said "0". It wasn't much fun though! I usually get 500 to 550 from a brimmed tank.

You're joking, fuel light bingo is one of my favourite games!

Ah, thought that was all in. Nope, moslty on 50-60mph single carriage way A roads with a little bit of town driving. Usually get a bit less than that though, get tempted by the loud pedal. :notme:

whats your expenses rate ;)

In the end I got 53 mpg from the tank

Something like

428 miles

35 liters

£50.71

Think it could be my best yet. I'll check and update later.

Kuni if I'm right in calculating your getting around 30mpg

If you want good MPG the 1.4 MPI engine is not your friend.

I get roughly 400 miles out of a brimmed tank, if I drive sensibly, average mpg is 35.... its an old lump of an engine.

There are hundreds of old threads about the 1.4MPI MPG, use the search :-)

cheers mate guess am just gone have to live with it

went to coventry yesterday and mine did very well at 235 miles on twenty quid ,hasnt been doing that well but put some millers eco in the tank ,must have cleaned it out a bit plus a new air filter and plenty of air in tyres
