Before the hybrid perhaps fmic probably a good idea, pd160, exhaust I don't know what you've done to yours so can't really help!

Drop the VW V6 engine in place of original.

or the BAM :D

unfortunately not a lot.

you appear to have done all the "standard" and "affordable" mods and the next step on the ladder does require deeper pockets.

next "easy" stage would be swapping your PD130 turbo for a PD150 one.

Assuming your not planning on ragging the nuts off your car ALL the time the extra £500ish for a FMIC wouldn't necessarily be essential (won't be a bad idea though)

Above that you are down the hybrid route which as you clearly see if not a cheap road to go down

 Tell me more..

From my 6yrs with my old modified Impreza the following were good cheap mods to improve performance, these are from my experiences with a Turbo petrol car so some might not be so benificial in a derv application:-

1. Reduce weight in the car, remove anything uncessary.

2. Improve airflow in all the air pipes, straight through smooth internal hoses produce very little back pressure, corrigated OEM pipes cause all sorts of reflections and back pressures. Back pressure in a turbo application can reduce performance.

3. A decent exhaust with a good fixed internal diameter throughout the whole length of the zaust. Remove back pressure to allow the turbo to spin freely without interuption. Heat wrap the downpipe from the turbo.

4. Reduce engine and turbo heat to the in comming air pipes by heat wrapping the pre turbo pipes. Heat in a turbo car reduces power.

5. Intercooler water spray to reduce temperatures, also increase airflow to your intercooler, clean out all the gunge in the pipes and intercooler!

6. Lastly learn to drive quickly, go on track day driving days where you can safely find the limits of you and your car. Its amazing the difference this makes!

Hope this helps
