A gripe about the Furby

Featured Replies

You can hear the Fabia's exhaust if you give it some welly. Sounds nice and fruity, and very non-diesel like...

Dont know what the answer is BUT I actually LOVE the fact that you can go stupidly fast with so little effort, for me it adds to it. I have only ever owned petrol and I didn;t realise til now how much i dislike the petrol 'scream'.....whereas the diesel is laid back but immensley powerful. So much speed, so little effort....love it

Definately going to have to get the exhaust system now, just got a quote of

it is because of the fuel it takes in lol

diesel max revs 4.5k really petrol anywhere upto about 9k

I think it also has something to do with the noise you start with, rather than what you end up with at speed. Diesel engines are relatively noisy at slow speeds but the noise doesn't seem to increase so much with speed as a petrol engine, which starts quiet.

I can vouch for that - at 70 mph in 3rd the metro distinctly SCREEEAAAMS

The Furby vRS was commented upon by SWMBO as noisy on tickover. At speed it was distinctly quiet compared with my current car (and the other car I had, also a petrol but a more decent car all-round ).

Thus the thought about getting it sound-proofed further, if I can lower the noise further at tickover it will be a stealth 'killer'
