Tyres

Featured Replies

Hi guys just thought I would share this with you all.

just had a pair of Hankook Ventus Prime tyres fitted to my 1.8 TSi yesterday and I am very impressed with them so far.

Had a fast 400 mile run up to Berwick on tweed and back today and they hold the road very well in both the wet and dry.

Great amounts of grip in the fast bends and nice and quiet.

Time will tell how well they last as the miles add up but they are a fair price. 205/55r16 91v and they cost around £70 each all inc balance.

I normally use goodyear but they have stopped donig the ones I wanted so thought id try these.

I hated the Std fit Contis as they were very noisy and the winter tyres were great.

Are they the K105 model?

Good price that. Camskill have them at £61.80 so £70 fitted is decent emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Yes they are the K105s.

Done another 200 miles today and the grip is very good. Much better than the contis that came from the factory.

Time will tell as to how fast they wear out. I only got 11k out of the contis so anything over that will be a bonus.

I had Hankooks on my last Octavia - 2 brand new Hankooks on the front when I bought it and oem Dunlops on the back. When it came to replace them I got 4, supplied by dealer (DM Keith in Bradford) can't remember the price but at the time it was the best I could find anywhere! Lifetime free rebalancing and puncture repair too.

They are great tyres! I got 24k miles out of the pair of fronts (about 3mm tread left) and when I traded the car 14k miles later the 2nd set of fronts were about half way down and the rears untouched.

My current Octavia has oem Bridgestones that are horrible and noisy! When time comes for replacement it will be for Hankooks again.
