Featured Replies

hi

i have skoda fabia 1.9 tdi 100 bhp

problem is when i start the engine after some time the engine temprature reaches to 90 degree which is normal but when i put it in to 4th or 5th gear on a motor way it decreases to 0 again the after 5 miles againto 90.can any one tell me why this happens.

thanks

Yes it is the common CTS (coolant temperature sensor) fault.

Replace the sensor and O ring and all will be well again.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Sounds more like a stuck open thermostat, not allowing driving warm up.

If it were a coolant temp sensor you may experience running problems, as you haven't mentioned them I assume you are not. A quick check would be to see if when your temp drops (according to your dash) see if you still get heat from your heater blower.

If its cooler then expected or cold, then its a coolant flow problem.

The two common faults being a stuck open thermostat, and a water pump impellor spinning freely from the driven shaft. (The water pump can be checked without removing it, or the timing belt)

Hope this helps

Sorry to bring this post back up,

I have the same problem, But My heaters do not go cold when the temp drops, does this mean its just the CTS? my temp drops from 90 down to just over 50 when driving slow
