Featured Replies

Just come back from US trip and decided to fit the ECS hold down kit that was waiting for me. Gave me a excuse to polish up the alloy as well.

P.S Clive before you mention it, yes i changed the crudy dirty overflow with a nice clean one. :giggle:

Also got a replacement washer bottle to go in.

Looks awesome mate, I have been after one of those kits for a while even though I dont really need one! What did you use to polish the cam cover and inlet?

Do you have an issue with coils popping or is this just because they look nice?

I'm in love!

Now, stick a nice cover over it :( (Mk2 Octavia)

Hi Rob , actually i do have a problem with the 3rd coil popping up. So although they look good they were purchased for a purpose.

Cheer for comments buddy,

To polish the cam cover and manifold i used a wire brush on a drill, and when i got most of the cast bits flat, then attacked it with coarse wet and dry going down to medium fine and finnaly autosol metal polish. Worth the time it took i think.

I have done a few members on here where people had a spare one to send..

V nice, does it need much upkeep?

Actualy no it does not. Very rarely do i need to polish it.

Does that mean that the spark plugs are not tight enough, or that the threads in the head are worn or damaged allowing leakage?

Or is it the coil packs at fault, and they are loose?

Spark plugs nice and tight no thread issues in head. The coil packs are probibly not seating as tight as they should(been on car some time) as the rubber seal maybe tired.

no the lifting is caused simply by heat and expansion
