Fan running on after engine stop

Featured Replies

Hi

My Yeti is a few weeks old and has only 500 miles on the clock, on my journey to glasgo this morning (135 miles) I noticed when I arrived that the fan was still running and there was a smell of hot engine, is this normal or just running in? I didnt exceed the speed limits and it was a constant run on A roads and motorways.

Is normal will be dpf regen

I noticed exactly that a couple of times when mine was new,and I was driving very slowly in the ice and snow.

I've never noticed it since I've been driving "normally".:giggle:

Yes it will be DPF, if it's a petrol then it's something else.

Never heard anything related to the DPF, assuming this is the electric fan on the radiator?

But it's not unusual for heat in the coolant (like any heat, it rises) when it stops being circulated to trigger the radiator fan for a few minutes.

The DPF regen is smelly, and the fan is on for many minutes, I queried this when my car was 500 miles old with James at Allams as it happened whilst I was with him at the time. I haven't heard it for some time now.
