I had mine remapped by P-Torque, back at 80k, its now on 111k, not missed a beat. Its on original turbo, and clutch.

I did two castle combe trackdays last year, never had any problems like turbo issues, heat soak etc. 288's can cope with a decent set of pads. It all depends on how you drive. Going into roundabouts at 150 will of course require Brembo's though :)

Look after the turbo and it will look after you.

does it? where can i get one? how much? why does no one upgrade to these?

Because it requires alot more bits to make it fit.

Standard KKK can cope very easily remapped when done correctly as can the rest of the car.

Why do people quickly think the standard 288's are crap? Similar design is fitted to the 180bhp 1.4TSI's.

Ive had 2 vrs's, needed 2 £880 clutches and a £400 gearbox!

Once bitten twice shy, not work then lol

My car came out of the box with 150bhp. The later cars all did apparently. So I, for one, thoroughly believe mine has been mapped to just over 180 bhp though I have, as yet, not had it RR-ed or been given a map read out, as promised by the small firm I used. I has been mapped for six months or so now and no problems at all. I don't know what the fuss is about with mapping.

Don't matter if it made 130bhp or 150bhp they still only map to the same power!

As for brakes, iv just fitted some Pagid ones from euro car parts! they are amazing, all be it iv got a few squeaks but i think thats my fault! but for value for money they are very very good! bite much more than the OEM ones! no need to push the pedal so hard :)
