light wiring question

I was bored so decided to wire up some led strips (yes I know, chav etc!) which I had sitting around for ages. Just want to double check it's all safe. I've got them spliced into my sidelights (red and brown wire). I've also ran a switch off the live wire so that If I dont want them to come on with my sidelights I can just switch them off. Question is really, do I need any additonal fuses or anything or is it safe to assume that the 5amp fuse for the sidelights will protect me?
