Bloomin heck Rob! Didn't you like your Skoda? :D Have you ever worked out how much that all cost? or are you frightened your wife finds out :D

I don't want to think about that :D

I have a spreadsheet for some of it:

2008 $3,660.00

2009 $2,715.00

2010 $7,170.20

2011 $2,239.00

Shh don't tell SWMBO

Nice one Rob , I do not feel so bad messing with mine now.. :giggle:

ABD intake manifold is very tempting... :p

That would buy a lot of shoes :)

I got totally the wrong idea of what this thread was about when I read the title

Impressive list Rob, so it's just about only the main body shell that is standard then

Makes my changes seem a bit insignificant now :'(

  • Author

Most of them aren't particularly big changes - it's just that I'm always tinkering. And I've had the car for seven years :D

I just thought I'd list everything I could think of in one place to see how much I'd done.

I love this car, credit to you mate!

Excellent effort mate

Very nice Rob I thought I was bad!! What miles you got on it now?

  • Author

102,000km on the clock now. Will be closer to 104,000 by next week - little drive planned at the weekend.

Has it been a good reliable car or have you had probs??? Mine is a very good one just a few probs since decat and map but all okay now I hope....For the money there a sleeper,I have surprized alot of people with mine...People just think a skoda badge there ****...HAHA they say fookme when I put foot down.I love it

The only problems I ever had that weren't caused by my own tinkering were a steamed up indicator and a squeaky dash - both fixed under warranty.

People haven't a clue what it is here - they didn't sell that many of the Mk1s :)

Looking good.

Any luck with the caliper paint?

So many interesting mods  , and yet it is still very much an Octavia VRS.

Noted your tyre sizes being slightly different front versus rear. I always thought this was a bit of a no no, but can't recall precisely why :( . Was there a reason for mixing 225s and 215s?

Well, the badge on the boot is............or has that gone too Rob :D

Can't wait to have a go in it when I come to live in your shed

I thought it was all good, as long as tyre sizes on the same axle were the same.

The exception being 4wd, where the car was designed to have 4x the same wheel.

correct...

ahhh, thanks  2 previous cars i had were 4wd which is why i had assumed it was a no no.

Also means when i upgrade to 215s from 205s i can do it in pairs rather than having to replace all tyres at the same time. :smirk:

That's gone too :)

That's gone too :)

It's a bit like the broom with 4 new heads and a new handle :D except faster ;)

Dont want to hijack this thread..... Can I add my mod list to this?

Or is it worth starting a specific 'members car mod list' thread?

Steve
