oil change

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm doing an oil change tomorrow but need a couple of questions answered,

1) Is it ok to use an engine flush?

2) Is halfords fully synthetic 5w/40 ok to use (it says vw 502.00/505.00 on the label??)

3) How much will it take to refill?

Many thanks if you can help.

Dont use engine flush, just do regular oil changes, that will keep inside engine clean

Ive just been looking at oils and ended up with Carlube Fully Synthetic 5w30 from Morrisons. ACEA3 compliant, but not car maufacturer specific as per Ford VW VX etc.

came in at £22 for 4 litres plus £7 for a 1 litre.

Looked good value (£29 for 5 litres) compared to other options such as Castrol edge, Quantum and others

You can get VW specific 507 fully synthetic from these at less that £25 for 5 litres , that includes postage .

A first rate company to deal with.

Fast delivery and very good packing. Ordered 1 day came the next by first class delivery at no extra charge.

Take a look at their site many good products at a very competitive rate.

It's under £30 for a oil filter, sump plug and 5 litres of oil from the skoda dealer
