Anyone had a good experience with a S B'ham dealer?

Time to start getting quotes on a diesel VRS Octy so would appreciate any good dealer experiences. Cheers.

As a great customer experience then Savilles at Kiddeminster is the best Skoda dealer I have ever dealt with and I have bought a dozen Skodas and several other makes of cars in Worcestershire, the Black Country area.

With the VAT deals on the petrols I did not need to haggle.

My only question is why by a diesel with the current deals on Petrol Octavias? VRS petrol is on a different planet to diesel VRS. Even the 1.8 TSI is considerably faster accelerating than diesel VRS and it would probably take around quarter of a million miles to save the difference in fuel consumption. My 7 speed DSG does 43 mpg as per the book, petrol is about 6-7p a litre less than diesel and car cost me about £5K less than diesel even for the L&K which is far better equipped as standard than the VRS.

Try one, you will probably be amazed. Mine even looks like a VRS with the VRS fin that Savilles fitted for me.

I also bought from Savilles of Kidderminster. It is a family run company. They were first class. emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Another vote for Savilles here. I brought my grill to colour code and they threw in a vRS badge! Top service

Picking my vRS up today, but did pop in to Savilles a while ago to enquire about buying. They were very quick and courteous. Probably the best service I have received in a dealership

A friend of mine uses Savilles, their customer service is something other dealers could learn from.

Price wise they couldn't match DTD, another B'ham dealer did so I ordered from them.

.....Yep, Savilles every time for me too....

Have you considered All Electric in Kings Heath? I have never used them but my father in law bought a brand new Yeti from them last year and never had any problems.

I guess it depends where in South Birmingham you live as to whether All Electric or Savilles is closer? Saying that, having read all the positive comments on this forum about Savilles even if your closer to All Electric it may be worth the extra distance to Savilles.

Ultimately though for me it would come down to price and if I could get a significantly better deal at one or the other or somewhere else for that matter, that would probably be the decider?

Happy hunting!

Thanks for all your replies...first hand experience is a great help.

It's a company car I am after so the emissions are important and the price less so as the Directors like to keep any discount for themselves LOL.

Having looked at this site for a while I wanted to add a few extra's in the form of Eibach's, colour coded grille etc so need a dealer who knows what they are doing.

I will let you know how I get on. Thanks again.

I flew from Glasgow to Birmingham to collect mine from All Electric - got a great price from them and was more than happy with their dealings with me. Obviously can't comment on their after-sales service.

Mine is a car I use for company mileage too. The 1.8 TSI DSG has a CO2 of 155 gms/km ie one on group higher than the Diesel VRS but it does not get the 3% loading diesels do so would work out 2 groups lower than the diesel. Unfortunately one cannot claim the discounted price, I only paid £19K for mine, L&K spec ie adaptive lighting, heated seats plus I went for the steering wheel with paddles changes for the 7 speed gearbox, GSM phone connection and the VRS tail fin. I use to have a Toledo but also had Leon Cupra too. SWMBO bought her TSI VRS from Savilles, nothing but great experience and we had our Octy 1 estate fixed through them after major tailgate crash. 10 out of ten in all respects.
