My SKODA caught fire

Featured Replies

My Skoda Octavia caught fire last week (10th April 2011) for no apparent reason, and was burnt to ashes in minutes. My husband had got barely got out of the car and had not even locked it when he noticed smoke inside the car. Within minutes, the vehicle burst into flames and completely burnt in a matter of minutes.

It was a less than 3 yr old diesel car with no CNG fitted. Whatever accessories the car had (stereo etc) had been of reputed brands and had been installed using absolutely authorised procedures. We had maintained the car really well and it was in an impeccable condition. Had got it serviced from the authorized Skoda service station just two weeks back and they had certified it to be in perfect condition. Pls see the photo..its shocking and horrifying. My husband could have been dead if he had not come out in that split second.

Thankfully the company says it will investigate and take action. I hope they replace the car immediately. And what about the mental trauma...my husband's life got saved by a split second...and I along with my 5 yr old had to watch our family car burn down before our eyes, for no fault of ours. It's pathetic...and scary.
