Squeaky windows

Featured Replies

Has anyone else ever had squeaky front windows when you put them up and down?!

Each time mine are used, they let off a horrendous squeak at random times.

Anyone know what part of the whole thing it could be, and is there a way to stop it?

Mine happened because of the dust that had settled on the outer rubber strip (wasnt washed in a lonng time) of the window and it rubbed against the window creating that squeak !!

Some cleaning solution and an old toothbrush did the trick however !! never squeaked after !

Lol, ill get the windows down and give that a try. Thanks.

This is a common issue iirc, silicone spray is another solution.

Holts make a v. good "rubber and nylon" lubricant aerosol.

I had a squeaky/sticky window in my last car. Took it to the dealer to get it checked out, his solution was furniture polish on the seals.

Worked a treat and cost nothing(if you have some)

Glad to see it's a common issue anyway!

Mine has started doing this, only during hot days, just put window down at midnight( cool now) and is fine again, anyway put some furniture polish on the seals anyway, thanks for the tip
