Fiestas are tougher than you might think

Featured Replies

Had one roll into the back of me at a red light on Friday whilst the owner was looking to their left down the road they MEANT to take. One fooked back bumper but hoping repairable as this is a vRS one with a smoothed off exhaust cutout.... Getting a quote on Tuesday. This will be the third repair for this bumper now after being hit by a BMW before, and also after the damage incurred when couriered back from the Ring....

Was an ST, and the young driver was very apologetic. I couldn't be angry as this kind of **** happens, and as long as paid for, I will get a freshly painted/repaired bumper out of it. Could really do with a stock bumper to let the bodyshop have mine for a few days.... hmmmm....

Note the splits around the exhaust cutout smoothing.... Going to be some cutting & re-fibreglassing methinks. Thankfully no damage to the taillight, although an odd small scuff on the bottom of the bootlid which I am not sure is related to this incident or not. I might have caught it on something.

Oh dear. Hopefully youll get it sorted asap.

Ouch. Is the crashbar behind not damaged?

only rolled into me at about 3 or 4 mph, so no serious damage really. Just destroyed my cosmetic smoothing off of the exhaust outlet, which is more annoying.

When I got rear ended on the A40, impact was around 20mph maybe? I got a scuff line all along the bottom of the boot lid as well, like 2mm thick on the very lip.

Think it's from the bumper jumping / folding breifly up on impact.

That said, I had to have a new real panel and get the boot floor pulled straight, so maybe yours is from another time?

Not tempted to get a stock bumper smoothed like Dougies, then?

That is more annoying than anything else as you can always see the damage.

Well, I have gone over with some polish, and pushed the lower bracket back out straighter so it sits better and it clips in. Looks a little better but still clearly cracked and major paint damage obvious. Getting quote tomorrow for the repair.
