Bloody interior!

Featured Replies

I've removed all my seats, spent the morning using some seriously strong Meguiars APC mixed in a proper spray bottle. And i've still got mould spots on the bloody material!! So i took the material section off one of the lower rear bolsters - to find that the underside of the seat material is totally black and the foam is too! Something tells me im fighting a loosing battle - Anyone got a decent interior for a VRS lying about? Need front and rear seats with headrests! Can pay for shipping or will collect! (depending where you are!)

Reads like you've had some serious water/condensation problems if it's that mouldy. Have you seen the "how to strip off your seat covers" guide? You could bleach/pre-wash and wash them covers themselves in the washing machine. That just leaves the seats themselves and the foam. wash copiously with mould killer and a cleaner/degreaser, then let dry to bone dry.

Both the rear bases are screwed the actual foam is black - as is all the underside of the material. I did manage to get the material off the foam. Then gave up!! I will sell the parts of the interior in pieces to get some of the money back. The door seals were leaking all winter when my car was in storage - the rain & snow took it's toll as did the freeze after it!! Gone mental with plumbers black sealant on all the doors - interior is

Now dry!! Thought about a leather retrim but after seeing the foam I decided against it!!

Hi, would you happen to have a link to the guide to removing seat covers? Mine are a bit grubby, I've had a quick go at steam cleaning them and I'm not really happy, so if the covers are easy to remove I might just whack them in the washing machine and try to patch up the small rip in the drivers seat at the same time...

They came out of a car at a breakers yard! Plus they could have been sat about a bit!

Right so here's how bad the interior was:

And here's how it looks now after a wet vac.

Looks awesome. Would you recommend taking the seats out to wet vac? Or is it do able in the car??

Definitely take them right out. Especially to leave them out for a couple of days to dry properly.

Mine gets done by a pro in the car I just leave the heating on, window open slightly for a few hours job done.

New interior here - looks like they have had a go at cleaning it before sending it out - plus there is a very small rip in the drivers side seat. Not too bothered. But cant wait to get them wet vac'd and put into the car - plus when the interior is out i'll be measuring up for the rear strut brace!

You've got ya self a free upgrade to a 3 point centre belt as well, haven't ya? ;)

What wet vac did you use as am looking around to buy one but have no idea what am looking for.

Also the seats look awesome compared to what they did look.

Thanks

Aaron

Yep - 2 thumbs way up! :) Nice

They were done with a NUMATIC George 3-in-1 Cleaner.
