Yeti TDI 140, 2wd

Featured Replies

Appears from the parts book that the Yeti is possible going to be available with the TDI 140 in 2wd format from November (most likely WK45). No further info such as which countries might be getting such a model.

Oh the Octavia is getting the same TDI 110 4x4 CFHF engine as the Yeti in May, again which market I cannot say.

TP

Now that does sound like a nice idea - and as we seem to get one of the widest ranges of engines in the UK I'd be very hopeful that it'll be offered here!

As a would-be Yeti owner who is reluctant to pay for four wheel drive, but would miss the performance of my 140 bhp Octavia, I would be very pleased to see a Yeti with a FWD 140bhp engine. (I reckon FWD and winter tyres are sufficient to get me around Staffordshire roads.)

Guestimating from the 110 FWD, 110 4x4 and 140 4x4 figures, I'd guess at a mark up of say £900 from the 110 FWD, (or perhaps a bit more to cover the extra cost of a 6 speed gearbox) with a top speed of 120 mph, a 9.5 secs 0-60, a combined 54 mpg, and 138g/km CO2.

So yet another reason to delay my order

If it was to be available from week 45, when the order books open do you think??

Which would mean Skoda couldn't supply one for another 20 weeks??? Surely we have seen elsewhere that people can order colours now (like Bronze) that won't be used until later in the year so I would expect Skoda to be able to set up an order book in advance of an option being actually made.

Incidentally, their performance sucks when compared with Audi. My son has just ordered a new Audi TT Roadster, and Audi UK can not only tell him the changes being made from week 22, but can supply the car by June!

+1. A 2wd with a more powerful engine would meet a gap in the range, which several comeptitors address.
