I think his car is priced high for milage. Yours is probably bang on price. I'm no expert but I think £4000-£4500 would be more realistic as your car still isn't run in at 17k.

If you weren't sure, you shouldn't have agreed mate I'm afraid. Take it on the chin if you really want the car.

You're right. I've phoned him today and he's going to get it serviced so at least I've got price of mind. He's a nice guy so don't mind him getting a good deal.

Make sure it's a proper service. Some people say that but as it's coming out of their pocket they either don't bother or do a half-assed job.
