Don't use Chris Knott as Liverpool Victoria who they use will bend you over backwards if you have to claim.Even if it isn,t your fault.

Chris Knott use more than one company, we have one car with them & they used Highway for tghat. They had us with Zurich when the Octy was totalled a few years ago & they were excellent, I was getting trouble with the Curry eating call centre Zurich used, rang Knotts who made a few calls & a couple of days later I had a call from the UK office of Zurich & it all went smoothly from there on,assesor came to the car & agreed it was beyond economical repaiorat th3e end of its life I think they even paid too much for the car but I didnt see the need to discuss that :thumbup:

I can never understand Direct Line's TV advert where they go "We aren't on any compare sites, oh no!"

I'm not surprised they don't go on compare sites - I've always found them twice as dear as the best quotes.

Another odd point re insurance. My neighbour decided to go with the AA, including roadside assistance, but when he phoned they would not accept him unless he gave bank details as per a direct debit (so they could renew easily next year, they said).

He said he just wanted to pay them a lump sum from his debit card over the phone but they simply would not accept him unless he gave bank details (which is daft because the debit card is much the same and the policy wasn't going to start for at least 2 weeks, for checking purposes if they needed that.)

Anyone else had that from the AA?

In the end his best quote (much cheaper anyway) was with LV, and he took AA cover separately for £15 (it was £35 but they gave back a £20 voucher to use at Boots !!)

Talk about everything being a minefield these days.

was with the aa for 14 year always paid for the full year never had to give anything other than card details,

last year paid around £140, this year with 14 year no claims, no change of address, no accidents, claims or points, they wanted £474 wouldnt budge on price so went elsewhere a whole lot cheaper

Just got insurance with admiral on my 11 plate vrs. £1071 paid in one lump, ouch! I guess there are some benefits of growing up, cheaper insurance

Shop around using on-line companies maybe cheaper than High Street insurers.

Check your post-code out for living in a high risk area, if you are, find a relation in a low risk area and insure from their post-code.

Good luck.emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Please dont do the postcode part unless your car is really kept there overnight else thats making a false application for insurance which is terms to have your policy voided.

Glad you sorted

Been with direct line for the years, switch to Sky insurance (brokers) as direct line wouldn't insure any performance upgrades while Sky would only hesitate a little for nitrus.

29 years old 6 NCB 3 points, 3.5 V6 280bhp + upgrade £ 850 fully comp with recovery
