Yeti SE Plus

Featured Replies

What do they mean by electric front seats? By the fact it is plural I would assume( :giggle: ) they mean heated front seats, but this may have been covered earlier.

Perhaps they mean Spanish built Seats :giggle:

Although not Yeti applicable, I noticed the Fabia SE Plus, according to AE, will get standard fit rear electric windows whereas the more expensive Elegance has to make do with manual keep fit jobbies unless they are added as a factory fit option. SUK logic - perhaps they count the manual ones as traditional added value ?

My Elegance had leccy rear windows as standard.

So does my SE Greenline.

Have an 11 plate Fabia Elegance TSi at the moment as a loan car until the Yeti's DVLA paperwork comes through. I was very surprised to find the rear keep fit ones fitted. Checking on the website it appears to be a £155 factory fit option - very stingy for a range topper.

Erm..... Bassa said "...applicable, I noticed the Fabia SE Plus, according ..." So was referring to a Fabia and not a Yeti! :giggle:

Naughty James :wonder: - distinct favouritism towards Yetis. (Yetii?) SE plus has been launched across the range, yet you are only pushing it on the Yeti forum emoticon-0106-crying.gif

Not favouritism, just that I seem to get a better response from the Yeti forum so I try and update here first and then other models there after, someone has already beaten me to the Superb SE Plus spec anyway.

I like Superbs just as much as I like Yeti but I think I'm more familar here than on the Superb forum. Nothing personal!

no offence taken or intended. Realise you are seen as one of the good guys

Oooops

But perhaps it should be!

Quite right! DAB reception is indeed rubbish now but then so was FM at first. However selling a car without a DAB tuner (which I assume needs new hardware not just a software download into the standard radio) right now is simply planned obsolescence in the face of a very real risk of FM going pop in 2015.

DAB reception is rubbish in some parts of the country - but great in others. And having looked into adding a DAB tuner into my Octavia, it seems that an integrated DAB/FM/AM radio either needs to be a completely new box (eg JVC) with a new aerial and aerial lead, or to have an auxilliary tuner unit (again with new aerial and aerial lead) feeding into the existing Bolero unit. So to upgrade an existing Bolero would need a software upgrade to the Bolero as well as new hardware.

I've tried a Pure Highway DAB tuner in my Octavia, but the windscreen-mounted aerial only works with strong DAB signals (and now needs to be replaced as I've just had the windscreen replaced!)

For some parts of the country, you may as well still fit an AM Radio/cassette player but that shouldn't mean that those of us in less civilised areas (!) have to be deprived as well. After all I'm never going to need the MDI link and prefer the flexibility of a TomTom GPS but I'm not constantly moaning that Skoda offer optional MDI and OEM GPS!

Chris

but I'm not constantly moaning that Skoda offer optional MDI...

If only they did (for the Yeti)? Or has it snuck on to the UK options list at long last?

Oops... As I said I don't need that so I must have misremembered it being added!

Let's add it to the list of items aavailable elsewhere in VAG but not offered by Skoda UK :)

i ordered an 2.0TDi 110 4x4 SE Plus within the first week they availble to order May. update from dealership yesterday is that i should get it in September. so in theory i could have one of the first models on the road. (am just very pleased to be getting my yeti) was initally given a delivery date of December

What's everyones view of the SE plus two-tone plastics ???

I hated it, reminds me too much of what they did in the B5 Passat's of a certain era. A silver version blends it in well on the door mouldings, but on something like red, it must really stand out !

I hope all those folks on back order know they are getting light grey everywhere B)

I don't remember seeing two tone plastics? Whereabouts? I do remember the seat cloth which initially looked very 1980's. I hope that was just an initial reaction and it is actually not too bad.

Had a look inside an SE+ on Saturday when I was back at the dealers with my Yeti. I have to say that the interior isn't very appealing at all. The tone tone plastics in IMHO cheapen the feel of the interior and the pattern on the seats look like they should be on a base model rather than an premium one. On the 'plus' side the folding picnic tables are a nice and welcome addition!

My local dealer has been onto SUK, and SUK didn't acknowledge the fact that SE plus has two-tone grey plastics, yet there it was in the showroom right in front of them.

It's as light as the rooflining, so I guess it will show every scuff anyone glances it with shoes etc. Yuk !

I really dont like the plastic colours they have going on in the SE+ literally to the extent it would stop me buying one but funnily enough I really liked the upholstery that nearly everyone on here seems to hate! COnfirmation; I do have strange taste!

I also think that fabric should only ever see the inside of a Lada or at the very most a Yeti E. Makes my eyes sore looking at it!

Seen photos of SE Plus models with either the silver grey lower dash and door cards or the standard UK black on black dash and cards.

TP

Major plus point, as not everyone wants leather.

No chance of the electric seat unless you've got the leather though?

Where are those sniffing salts? ........ wake up and smell the cow hide CT17!

BTW FM is going nowhere in a hurry, car radios are just one area where "DAB" is not going to change FM use.

Love the seats, I'd have them.

FM works really well, it is MW that is the problem. DAB is only really needed to replace MW stations. It's a shame that you can't just put the MW stations onto FM and then there would be no need for DAB.

Agree totally on MW Ed, still cannot understand why someone would rule out a car on DAB reasons - esp one as good as the Yeti......each to their own. I personally cannot see FM ever being canned, will mean loads of people not having access to FM in cars. Will be a sad day if it ever happens as a good FM broadcast via a good hifi is a thing to behold. Yes, the seats are another each to their own comment.

I think Skoda have brought VFM leather finishes to the masses in their cars, I loved my Oct MkI VRS, but once I sampled the leather that was me sold, not even sure Leather is an option in the Scout? maybe someone can confirm thx. I defy anyone to see leather seats like the LEs and say they want cloth. Think the elegance leather is stunning. BTW should note that, not everyone can afford leather, but it is one thing after seeing L+Ks, Elegance & VRS with leather that I will have in every car I own from here to the grave. FWIW I liked the interior of the Fabia Monte Carlo .... so no-one can call me a leather fetishist!

As we are taking delivery of an SE Plus next Friday, I thought I would enter the 2 Tone Grey Interior debate.

Luckily we are all different, but I really wanted the SE Plus because of the light grey plastic! I spent 3 years in dark grey/ black Touran and really like the light interior of the SE Plus. Mind you, we have ordered it in Aqua Blue, which is one of those colours that does look good next to light grey.

We wanted the spare wheel and were going to order the seat tables and floor mats as an option on an SE in any case, so finding an SE Plus on the available list with a spare wheel was like Christmas coming early. Christmas is this coming Friday August 12th!!
