Yeti SE Plus

Featured Replies

Thought I'd share this with you.

As of today the SE Plus trim level is available to order, as the name implies this new trim sits between the SE and the Elegance.

You can have the SE Plus in any of the engine or gearbox combinations you like apart from the Greenline 1.6CR.

The SE Plus adds to the SE

  • Amundsen SatNav
  • Bluetooth
  • CD Changer
  • Picnic Tables on the back of the front seats for rear passengers
  • Net system below the parcel shelf

Seems pretty cool, I like the idea of being able to have Amundsen nav system, I've used it a fair bit on the Fabia and I like it. The only downfall is not being able to play a CD and use the Nav but on the SE Plus Yeti you have the CD changer and the Nav. Job done!

1.2 TSI 105PS - £17,410.00

1.2 TSI 105PS DSG - £18,560.00

1.4 TSI 122PS - £18,210.00

1.8T TSI 152PS 4x4 - £20,260.00

2.0 TDI CR 110PS DPF - £18,750.00

2.0 TDI CR 110PS 4x4 DPF - £20,500.00

2.0 TDI CR 140PS 4x4 DPF - £21,325.00

2.0 TDI CR 140PS 4x4 DSG DPF - £22,575.00

2.0 TDI CR 170PS 4x4 DPF - £22,160.00

I think the 2.0TDi 110 4x4 SE Plus really represents excellent value for money especially when a Nissn Qashqai 2.0DCi 4x4 n-tec is £24,045 and the Yeti is £20,500. Well done Skoda I think!!

Plus you can now get the 170CR engine in this new trim so you don't have to have an Elegance to have the 170CR engine.

Major plus point, as not everyone wants leather.

No chance of the electric seat unless you've got the leather though?

Thanks for the update James

Sounds like we have a UK version of the European Family addition :wonder:

No it is still the case that you have to have the Elegance model to get the electric seat option available. I presume you can only select options from the SE options list on an SE Plus.

It does seem that way, they are looking like good value for money too.

What a quaint archaic thing to add to a car as "Plus" spec: a CD changer!!!!! Anyone still feeds these things to their cars or even know what they look like apart from the first six you have loaded in there on day one?! (yes I've had the same six in there for over 7000 miles now and they have not ONCE come out).

Apart from that total unnecessary bit of weight to permanently carry around this is a nice spec I have to say (even though the Amundsen is a runt of an ugly device with that extra central knob ruining the simplicity of the dash (my tainted architect's view only of course!).

Usually, all the equipment standard in a lesser model is then available in the top model. James, do you know if the Elegance model will now automatically incorporate all of these SE+ items?

Ok? So if I get this correct, you get the satnav upgrade in the SE Plus as well as other things but if you want leather etc on an Elegance it goes back to being the Bolero stereo?

Oh well. There are more important things in life î….

Is that the updated Amundsen I wonder with a DAB option???

No the Elegance model will remain the same, so you still gain leather, heated seats, bi-xenons, lumbar adjustment, etc, etc.

Correct. The SE and Elegance have Bolero standard, only the SE Plus has the navigation system as standard. But you can upgrade either of the SE, SE Plus, or Elegance to Columbus if you prefer to have that system with the inbuilt hard drive and DVD capabilitys.

I have an SE and already have the 6 CD changer. I don't get that as being an upgrade. Incidentally, why use the cd changer when you can buy an sd card for a few pounds.

Will the Amundsen have the option of a DAB upgrade?

New model here as well, see photo

I thought that was a photo of the original concept that gave birth to the Yeti as we know it today...

There has been no mention of this by SkodaUK. I'm sure something is in the pipeline for DAB but no information on its launch into Skoda.

Thought the Amundsen had temporarily been removed from the options list on models where its available as a factory fit add on ? Probably a knock on effect following Japan's troubles.

Cheers James, despite all the other toys I still thought it quite uncommon to go up a spec in stereo then come back down again for the next higher spec of car.

Saying that I and TOWMBO will be very happy when our green M arrives sometime around Sept.

Dom.

LOL my thought too - also if you have a bluetooth phone you may have satnav there already (heck I just got a mount for an iPod that turns it into a SatNav!) as well as MP3s. Oh well... I'd hoped the "Family" version in the UK would be the extended wheelbase version. At least it has the CR170 option. ;)

Maybe someone will start a poll on "What was really needed in an SE Plus! to go with the seatback tables"! :D

Perhaps I was lucky. I bought my SE140 TDi 4x4 just almost a year ago. Total cost on the road Metallic paint, mud flaps, mats, offroad button, £19000.I cant understand why anyone wants built in satnav. Just buy an up to date Tom Tom, you can swap it from car to car and update maps at a reasonable cost.

Further details of the equipment provided on the Yeti trim levels are given on the Skoda UK website now at http://www.skoda.co.uk/gbr/newcars/yeti/equipment/Pages/default.aspx.

BUT I'm not at all sure how accurate they are!

They say you can't add a Tyre Pressure Monitor or sunroof to the SE Plus level!!! (Although as the sunroof is quoted at both £850 and £1050 for other trim levels, and the dashboard storage box is said to be open at all trim levels - does it really not have a cover now on SE and Elegance trime? - the page still seems to be littered with errors.

+ 1

I found it very irritating that I couldn't have all the extras without having Leather.

On the Amundsen you can copy the maps to an SD card and if you leave the SD card in the slot you can navigate while listening to a CD. Navigation is also said to be faster that way. :)

So now we know about the picnic tables.

But what about the "fully-foldable passenger seat backrest that enables the user to transport long objects", as announced by Skoda Auto here ?? Is it now clear that this will be not be coming to the UK? I need that extra load length and am delaying placing an order until there is clarity on this. I did phone Skoda UK a while ago and they had no information.

I have heard about this but I haven't actually tried it out myself yet.

There is no mention of it. Have you tried sliding the front passenger seat all the way forward and then reclining the seat until it is basically flat? I haven't actually done it myself but that might be an option?

Do the European models come with the fully foldable seat?

Alas Å koda stupidly designed the passenger seat so that it is impossible to recline it fully down to make it level with the raised boot floor. I have done this to take long loads in my Yeti and the front passenger seat leaves a huge hump there to overcome.

I took these pics of the folded seat when I was at the Geneva Motor Show (Inside a Yeti Family - hence the table on the back):

And the lever to do this with is visible here when the seat is in the normal position:

Hmm... Well I don't know.

I think it would be best to wait until a MY12 SE Plus actually turns up so I can physically check it and say 100% if it does come with it or not. Although, that seat must have a part number and I imagine it would be retrofitted also I suspect the cost would be fairly substancial.
