2010 Red vRS 2.0 TDi CR - Good price?

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of trading my Blue 2007 vRS 2.0 TDI PD for a Red 2010 vRS TDI CR. The dealer is looking for £15,750 for the 2010 car with 17,000 miles on the clock. Car does not have maxidot, from what I can see it is standard spec other than dealer fitted rear parking sensors. Is this a good price for a 1 year old car? Most others with the same spec are around the same price or £500-£700 more.

Does seem expensive, based on what others have ordered new CRs for - when the VAT-free deal was on for the vRS diesels. But that deal is no longer running, as we know.

What also seems to be boosting nearly new sales is the lack of availability of new models as well, with long leadtimes especially on vRS diesels. So I would expect the dealer to be cashing in on that aspect too.

All of this is exemplified by the current Glass's PX price for that vehicle listing at £16800 currently! emoticon-0104-surprised.gif

So if everything else adds up and you feel the deal is reasonable, go for it emoticon-0148-yes.gif

How much are they offering for yours and what's the spec/mileage?

Yep, 'cost to change' is the vital bit really, based on what they're offering for your existing motor :)

I am being offered £9650 for my 2007 vRS. From what I can see this is above book price. 30k miles, xenons, auto lights/wipers, auto dimming mirror, sat navigation, cruise and sunroof. The recent talk of injector issues with 2.0 TDI PD engines has made me decide to bail out and get a FL car instead with the CR engine.

Well just to put it in perspective - i paid £18400 for my car in April last year brand new from DtD. As you can see from my sig i have a few extras ;) If i didn't have them or DSG i reckon i could have got it for that price. But as others have said there is not VAT deal on diesels anymore and a long waiting list so this is why the price is high!

Might sell mine actually :giggle:

Indeed - there a few cases on here of people pondering a sale after 12 months, for what they paid - or in some cases more! Not sure whether any actually have or not of course, as it would be foolish to give up a lovely Octavia.....

So that's not bad going in this day and age, for what is just an average family hatch ;)

Thats the trouble - whay would i get next?!

It certainly looks like the going rate right now, a browse of the Skoda used car search shows that I have paid much less than some other 2010 vRS are on sale for with similar mileage and spec.

Doesn't sound too bad to me

From Race Blue to a Red one and you have to pay MORE , its a rip off :giggle:

Sounds spot on to me - more exclusivity ;)

My mate has just paid £10,000 privately for similar mileage in blue, but not sure on the spec

I really like the FL vRS in red, I'll be very happy with the change of colour :)

Are you sure you'd be happy going from a vRS with lots of options to a bog standard one?

I doubt I would to be honest.

Yes no problem. I don't actually like the auto wipers and lights, I prefer manual control variable speed wipers and I usually activate the lights myself anyway or they end up on when it's sunny outside!!

The sat nav is the older more basic unit and I prefer to use TomTom on my iPhone. The Bolero will actually be a improvement.

The only options I'll miss are maxidot and the auto dimming mirror but it's not really a deal breaker.
