Ok been messing about with this even more today - removed the bar and took it out for a similar drive - hated it and put it straight back on!!! Its only when you remove the bar and try and push along the twisty A-roads around here that you actually notice the big difference!

On refitting it I decided to adjust the way i put it together:-

I used a 13mm socket - a small one with the smallest extender bar and a flexidrive on it. Put a spring washer onto the bolt (I didn't do this last time I just put the bolt straight through), then put it through the hole - using a small bit of bluetack inside the socket to hold the bolt so it wouldnt drop down inside the mount! Put another spring washer on the end of the bolt that was showing lined the bar up and screwed the bolt into the end of the bar. Then did the same on the other side with the extra spring washer in place. This turned out to be easier to tighten up the bolt as tight as a very tight thing. Plus also fitting time was vastly reduced with the bluetack idea down to 11 minutes in total!

Hope this guide helps a bit further - remember to remove the rubber bungs in the mount also - otherwise the socket wont fit in the hole!

They should if everything goes well be finished on Thursday. Actually looks like I may get a 10th one out of the metal!! But it's tight for measurements!! If I post them Friday you would get them maybe saturday or monday. I'm going to included extra springwashers as that extra pair made things much easier!! I'll keep everyone informed with how the batch is getting on!!

I was wondering.. would you have time to get some hammerite bbq black matt spray and attack some of the bars if we chip in some for the paint+time?

Is anyone else up for matt black?

Bars aint ready yet! I've snapped my m8 tap!!!! Going to b&q on the way home from work tomorrow. But I won't be able to get them finished until after work on Sunday. Don't worry - as soon as they are ready I'll let everyone know - due to their length and weight the will go STD parcel to the addresses provided

Bars are ready for paint! going to do them over the next few mornings. I'l be sending the nuts and the spring washers screwed into the ends of the bar. If anyone looses any then send me a message and i'll send spares. just trying to get them sent along with the bars - they will get lost!
