After much pondering I ordered a Rosso Superb Estate SE 170 TDI DSG with most of the extras at the end of January. Should have got my act together during the xmas holidays and got one VAT free in 2010. All water under the bridge now. Never even sat in one, far less try one out. A play with the on-line configurator and a few eMails and the job was done.

Anyway, I recently popped in to the local dealer to actually say Hi to the salesman and he handed me the keys to his demonstrator for as long as I needed it one afternoon. Was an Elegance, but fortunately was 170 TDI DSG like "mine". Had the new pano roof but I resisted the urge to try and add one to my order. My fairly short drive took in motorway, A roads, B roads and town driving and I was suitably impressed with the smoothness and comfort. And all the mod cons that we take for granted now. I did notice it bounced like a barge in a storm when pressing on near the national limit :evil: so will try to chill out when I get behind the wheel of mine.

I'm told it will be build week 18 which is now imminent. I'm not in a hurry but will be pleased to see it whenever it arrives. I look forward to the comfort and space.

My 2.0 SE Estate was ordered on the 15th Feb so, based on the timescale for your car, that would suggest a build date of of approx week 20/21 then. Getting closer...
