Uprated OEM console bushes

Featured Replies

Hi

I've bought some console bushes for the wifes 2006 Fabia vRS from my local Skoda dealer and the bushes they supplied are the new updated bushes part No 1K0407183E.

The problem I've got is these new bushes have an offset centre, hexagonal hole for the wishbone to locate into (offset by approx 3mm), whereas the old bushes that the haynes manual describes how to fit appear to have a central hexagonal hole.

I think the offset prob goes to the inside.....anybody fitted these yet and able to confirm which way they are supposed to go ie; offset to the inside or ouside ???

Here's a couple of pic's to show the direction of the offset.

Thanks, Bill.

These are from an Octi 4x4 estate!!! I had these fitted last year by the dealer as the originals were shot! If you had posted this about a week ago I could have told you, but I've cut them out and fitted the Powerflex one's.....much better supension control and the inside wheel stays in contact with the road much more!! Mind you if I had a press I would have fitted the SuperPro version!!! B)

Thanks....thats just my rotten luck lol.

The only reason I went for these bushes intead of cupra, powerflex etc, is its the wifes car and I just know she would defo complain if the car felt any different after new bushes were fitted, even if it did handle better.

Bill.

Let us know if you find anything out as it will affect the handling......what does the nearest dealership say???? Or are they not friendly?? :S

Red arrow in your pic faces towards centre of car, so yes offset to the inside.

silly question was there an offset on the original ones?

if not i assume it is a tracking job when they are changed as the allignment will have changed slightly

The car has negative camber, and the bush sits square once the weight is on the wheels. Originals where made of jelly, and offset depended on the moons gravity at the time.
