Oh no...new clutch :-(

Featured Replies

Well after the remap its seems my clutch is starting to disagree with the new found torque and is starting to slip, its going to be an expensive next few moths :'(

How are you driving?

I found this not long after I had my map, but after adjusting my driving style so I'm using the revs a lot more, it's been fine for the past 7 months.

It still slips occasionally when absolutely hammering it, but it's liveable.

Last night I was at 3300rpm in 6th with full throttle and it was fine :giggle:

oh its still drivable and will be for a while if i am nice but its the fact that i have paid for more performance but can use it :( so i guess it time to look at a performance after market clutch

If it does start slipping badly id think about changing sooner rather than later to protect the dmf

yeah i am getting some thing priced asap

If your not planning on going further tuning wise a standard clutch is more than enough match for a decent map & driving style

Agreed with Matt.

I'm pretty sure I knackered my first clutch and dmf

through inexperience of a TDI engine.

Mine was mapped before I got it and I think I didn't drive it

properly or well for the first few months I had it contributing to

an expensive repair job. I'm much more respectful and sensible

in how I treat it now.

Previously, I'd always had petrol cars with more sensible amounts

of torque. ;)vroom.gif

really? as it stands i dont tend to go much higher in power unless the turbo goes... I do like to some time drive aggressively when the mood takes me, is a oem clutch going to be be able to deal with that??

thanks mate

with out trying to sound stupid how would you drive ??

Basicly don't floor it from low rev's. All this does is muller your clutch & flywheel. Drive like a petrol, most decent maps spread the power over a larger rev range, so use it. You can drive hard, just keep above 2000 rpm before flooring it. Doing this should result in the clutch & flywheel lasting much longer
